31' Bruno goes close with a right-foot volley as he breaks forward, but sees shoot just evade Barnes and go narrowly wide. #BHAFC 0 Cord 0.

From the OS :37: Despite the temperature Barnes is determined to chance every cause, and his almost catches out keeper Saizar.

He would if he had a better first touch, which he will obviously develop in time.

Not sure about that. For me barnes is not quick or mobile enough to play on his own up front.

Barnes is an instinctive finisher, you can't learn that. I can see him developing into an excellent centre forward.

Me too. Chances drop to him, and he puts them away more often than not. It's not luck, it's not coincidance. His movement is a lot cleverer than people realise, and his finishing with both feet doesn't let him down. There was a stat posted on here earlier on that Leon Knight scored 30 goals in 103 games for us, Barnes has 33 in 90 (I might be slightly wrong with the appearance stats but that was pretty much it).

Whilst i was never a massive barnes fan, he's a much better striker than a midfielder. He is instinctive as you say and i feel a much better finisher than CMS. Hes still young, lets wait and see what develops. I think he might struggle to get a game this year if he doesnt play up front.

The ball sticks to Barnes, and for me he has good close control and strike to goal ratio. CMS doesn't seem able to convert one on ones consistently. One good thing that came out of the Euros was the stats they gave of striker's time on the ball per match. I know strikers operate on two or three seconds on the ball at a time, but have to be lethal in that period...
