Thanks for gifting us Boris Johnson because you believed loads of lies in the Tory Press about Corbyn.

I’m from an Irish family and I know full well everything they said about him and Ireland was just utter shit
I'm from a (Northern) Irish family.
It wasn't
I can't see any socialists voting for Starmer anyway
This one will. As will many. He's going to win

I

I think the reason that Johnson was caught out was that he was such a compulsive liar, a corrupt and useless individual and incompetent PM that being ‘caught out’ was inevitable. Giving Starmer credit via one PMQs is stretching it a bit!
But who cares? BJ has gone and KS will be PM by the end of the year.
It was many, many PMQs. He knew exactly what he was doing & it was beautiful to watch

No, that’s exactly it. He didn’t address anti semitism in his own party, because it was coming from his supporters.

If there had been wide spread anti BAME memes and tropes being spread inside Labour he’d have been on top of it immediately.

Racial bias.

Brexit had been voted for in 2019 by over three years and Corbyn was a leaver in Remainer’s clothing, just as Johnson was a remainer who chose Leave for personal gain.

They’re all the same mate.
Again, as I mentioned earlier in the thread, the disciplinary machine that dealt with antisemitism in the party was up to 2018 under the control of the Labour Right, his bitter opponents who would rather toss elections than have a leftwinger win any power, because they know his defeat was the only way they were going to get control of the party back again. The EHRC charge about "interference" in disciplinary matters levelled against Corbyn was his office trying to speed up the useless/wrecking feckers at Labour HQ who were virtually on unofficial strike for the entire time because their born right to rule has been taken away from them by Labour members in 2015.

If you saying anti-black racism in the party would have been dealt with instantly back then, again this is not true, there was a huge backlog of those cases too. The Labour bureaucracy was not fit for purpose even prior to Corbyn's election in 2015 by incompetence, after 2015 it was not fit for purpose by design as those in power there set out to wreck Corbyn by any means they could. All subsequently detailed in the (independent barrister) Forde report that Starmer threw in the bin.

I could attach Corbyn's long speech he gave to the European Socialists gathering in Brussels in 2016 where he explained his "Remain and Reform" position. There are actual references and links that state his on-the-record public positions on these issues, rather than hearsay and hazy imputations

Fair point. Reading The Sunday Times today - along with The Times it's gone full on right wing attack mode for The Tories like The Telegraph and Mail etc. Lib Dems are fair game again now. As Starmer acknowledges, it's going to get ugly this year.
What was in this weeks Sunday times to make you say that ? There was hardly any political content and even Robert Colvilles piece about Starmer being boring was basically saying that was what the voters wanted after the last few years - dull politics

I sometimes think about that. There’d have been a whole load of rich and very selfish folk there, believing they were Team Corbyn, jumping on the bandwagon of an [anti EU] opportunist :wanker: . Where are all the Francesca's and Henry’s now? Building personal wealth, ticking off expensive hip to-do lists.

Where’s your evidence for party discipline being under “right wing Labour”?

Furthermore, Corbyn was leader from 2015, so if it was still not under his control in 2018 that makes him a really shit leader. Starmer has control of the party and has for a good while. And, yes, that’s leadership.

The Prime Minister of this country has to be able to run Cabinet, Party and Parliament. Sounds like your “defence” of Corbyn is that he couldn’t run a bath.

If you’ve ever been to Glastonbury you will know that the majority of goers are the kids of scruffy middle class folk!

The average Glastonbury demographic is older than elsewhere, not sure if that’s due to cost and because 38 year olds are much more switched on about buying tickets than 18 year olds.

Corbyn was the Leader of one of the only two parties who can form a majority government. He was up against a shit incumbant Tory government, with all the power and funding of the Labour party and the trade union movement.

He was utterly rejected and trounced at the ballot box as the Labour leader.

Thems the facts.

He will never be anything more than a fringe quack

Imagine getting annoyed about Corbyn still, he is a complete irrelevance. And the idea that he is going to start a new party appears to be made up in the OPs head.
You’re crediting the OP with some kind of critical thought.

He’s just repeating the (far) right wing, populist press. Again.

Corbyn’s fan bois have done a pretty shit job of defending him though. You can only conclude they want five more years of Rishi.

No problemo. The tories are so bad . . . .they could still win though, I mean they were f***ing dire last time but managed . Labour are not winners. That is the sad truth (IMO)
Up against the twerp Corbyn....different now. Labour will be winners if they win. That's how it works.

But whatever the outcome, it will take a while for the hubristic token-wars to die down. May need a new tory leader (or two) before that settles.

It would be nice if some unassuming public spirited person emerges from the left of centre of the tory party (still to the right of me, but that's fine by me) to take their reigns, and we could all relax and focus on the football

At least you got a response. He demanded I debate him then went quiet on me.

He never writes or calls....sniff
