Is it just me who thinks that we're playing better, look to have made good, young signings and are in a false position VERY early in the season?
... why don't you all just stop this fantasy "5 years, when we're in the championship" bollocks and actually get behind a manager for a change
Well said and couldn't agree more. Slade has not been able to pick his first choice defence all season. With mcNulty back on saturday, hopefully, we are a step nearer that happening.
The problem lies not in the atmosphere at Withdean as so many have said but in the fact we have given so many games away with poor decision making which has resulted in us having 5 players sent off in 10 games, mostly for moronic play ( Virgo at Bristol, El Abd last weekend) and we have continued, in a hang over from last season, to concede incredibly soft goals. Now if we can cut those things out, we'll be absolutely fine.
I do think we need to bring in a wise old head at the back - someone wo can provide a bit of leadership and know for a fact the club are trying to do that. And if that means Virgo and Elphick dropping to the bench, so be it.
The defence must be the priority: get that right and the rest will follow.
The positives are that the midfield is much, much better than last season, we're playing soem good football and Forster looks as good as ever. Yes, Dickinson needs a goal, but make no mistake, he is a good player and will come good.
Slade deserves and must get some more time.
