10 league games since early august. 12 more until christmas. 9 wins and sudfdenly we're looking pretty good. Replacing the manager who brought in a new squad, took time to get the team to gel (extended due to injuries and suspensions), then is on a great run of 9 wins out of twelve, I'd say replacing him would be a shocking decision.

Which is what Forster's Armband was getting at. A change at christmas will only make sense if our record at christmas is as bad as it is now.

Tar Acker79 that is what I meant. To be honest I think if at the end of October we have not improved much (ie only a couple of wins) then pressure will be massive on RS and I think/hope Bloom won't hang about or stand for being bottom half at Christmas let alone in relegation zone.

here we go again i hope slade does'nt read this
how can he get on with things with everyone having a go all the time
why not al lget behind slade 100% until after christmas
gibe the team time to gel

I'm sorry I pay for my season ticket and I don't see it as value for money. As I've said before if we were trying new things and not having the luck far enough but the long ball non-possession strategy we have isn't working and most people have seen it NOT happening week-in-week-out

Slade can stay but needs to read this sort of message and either let us know what it is we are supposed to be doing or try something different. By the way if we are trying to lull teams into a false sense of security we've done a bloody good job and now can we start phase two!:tantrum::shrug::tantrum:

Micky Adams II then..... :US:

Coppel will only walk out on us again if a big club comes in anyway.

Is that really a bad thing though..? Lets say he comes in, gets us in to the championship, then moves on to a bigger club. We would be in a much better league, be able to attract better players and it would be easier to find a replacement manager.

Or we could have a manager thats here for say, 5 years. But we might not get anywhere in those 5 years.

What would you prefere?

I'd say we are ONE of the hottest proposisions out of the top flight.

.

assuming there are 20 odd teams in the Championship, the likes of Newcastle and West Brom etc and 20 odd teams in teh First division , the likes of Leeds, Norwich, Charlton etc, just exactly what do you base that statement on?

Blimey...some people need a reality check

what deep pockets?...he has financed the stadium.....he is not an Abramovitch. I dont see millions being put into the team ( and to be fair if he had millions to spend on players now would be the time to do it!)

If and when Brighton get into the Championship and attract crowds of 20k+, have some decent runs in cup competitions....that is when we can be compared to the likes of the clubs I mentioned...but until then, we are a poor lower third division team who are extremely fortunate that Bloom has some money, or based on the comments Knight made about the banks, we would not be playing football anywhere now!

My point is that for an up and coming manager or in Coppell’s case a proven manager with aspirations of returning to management, a club like ours is a very appealing prospect. We have one of the larger player budgets in the division and a decent manager would relish the opportunity. So while I may have exaggerated our position if you are a manger with a five year plan to achieve something with an ambitious club, I feel Brighton and Hove Albion is perfectly suited.

Brighton is more than big enough for Coppell. He went to Reading for goodness sakes.

But I hope he doesn't come back.

I think when he talks of 'deep pockets' he refers to the almost 1.5 million pounds he has made avaialble for Slades transfer budget, a manager like Coppell would be rubbing his hands together with the prospect of having that kind of budget in the third tier.

i very much doubt that bloom will be as eager to make a quick buck by accepting compensation money as dick knight did

Coppell could pick from most vacant jobs in Championship and probably one or two in the Premiership when they come up. Can't see any reason why he'd want to return here and, like you, I don't want him to. Fine manager though he is.

Who says we're going to win 9 of the next 12 though?

Agreed that a change now may be premature, but if we are still in this position by late November then Slade OUT.

i maintain that we will not win anything in november, so looks likely doesnt it?

But he also has a history of turning up where you don't expect. He likes small clubs he can make bigger. Reading - Brighton are his types of club. I hope we don't get him because that would mean RS has turned it all round and we are flying up the table.

If things don't pick up by the turn of the year, I can't think of a better person than Coppell to come in, get a grip on the club and build towards Falmer and ultimately promotion-chasing in the Championship.

But Slade deserves the chance to do that himself, and he's plainly not had long enough yet to be decided upon one way or the other.
