I’ll have to catch up on this specific case.

Why is it any different to previous claims? Genuine question. Or do I need to look into this one a bit more?
I think it's definitely worth looking into but then I'm a UFO dork, so you could say I'm pre-disposed to put more credence into this stuff than others who might be more logical / level-headed about it.

But essentially this whistleblower, David Grusch, has claimed the US Govt. has been running projects that have retrieved pieces of crafts and in some cases entire crafts of non human origin and that his attempts to bring this information to Congress had been blocked. Hence the whistleblowing.

Thanks, I’ll read about it properly before I comment again.

On NSC for over two decades...
At this point, I would like to highly recommend the book 'Skunk Works' by Ben Rich, which details the development of the Stealth Bomber, U2 and Blackbird. Really interesting and if you are into technology development, lots of lessons in the book about testing and learning / iterative development.

That is indeed an excellent book. I recommend it too.

Watching now. If he is telling the truth I doubt he will live a long and happy life.

I think this is part of the reason for having the hearing.

Grusch has already said he's faced personal and professional attacks as a result of his whistleblowing.

By putting these three front and center of a hearing like this, with this sort of potentially incendiary information, you make it harder (not impossible) for them to be involved in an unfortunate "accident".

What's the juiciest bit?

I see that the markets haven't crashed so presumably a nothing burger?
Alien craft (with left over aliens) recovered and the fact that the committee seems to be totally bipartisan which in America, is rare.

Nothing concrete naturally because if he reveals anything classified he'll go to jail but saying, under oath, that the US Govt. has retrieved craft of non-human origin is pretty big.

I did find it interesting that the Chair of the committee suggested that any information older than 15 years should just be de-classified and made public. So everything relating to UFOs / UAPs from before 2008 would come out. If they could get it through legislation.

F**k knows where it goes from here. I don't understand how the US Govt. works in this regard at all.

And is this alien craft in the room with us right now?

Potentially big stuff happening this afternoon over the pond.

A House of Representatives committee is set to hold an eagerly-awaited hearing on UFOs on Wednesday, which is expected to see remarkable claims regarding extraterrestrial life repeated in the most high-profile setting yet.

David Grusch, a whistleblower former intelligence official who in June claimed the US has possession of “intact and partially intact” alien vehicles, is among the witnesses slated to appear, and will repeat his allegations in front of a seemingly supportive line-up of congressmen and women.

You can watch the hearing live on YouTube from 3pm GMT - https://www.youtube.com/live/KQ7Dw-739VY?feature=share

I'm pretty excited. Extra-terrestrial life has long been an interest of mine and the rumblings that have been happening this year are the most interesting yet. Or they're utter tosh, depending on what you believe.

But just imagine, if you're a sceptic, just imagine it is true. What that could mean for the human race.

I often wonder how religious groups would react. If we're made in God's image and then all of a sudden some enormous bug looking aliens show up...who's image are they made in?

Or if, as this whistleblower is alleging, we're able to reverse engineer some of the tech to create means of producing sustainable energy; what would that do to the global economy? Saudi would suddenly find their oil money doesn't quite stretch so far.

Maybe finding out we aren't alone would cause us to come together as a species and become a truly global community.

This is one of those rare occasions I imagine Swanny might have some interesting things to say.

I've been expecting something like this.
Brandon has been talking about it for a while now:

Given the distances involved, isn't interstellar travel essentially impossible? So unless the aliens come from within our own solar system (which is unlikely) then the chances are there are no "vehicles" or the like.

Don't get me wrong, I am absolutely convinced that somewhere out in the universe there is indeed another race of intelligent beings. The universe is simply too vast and with too many planets, suns and galaxies for Earth to be alone in this regard. However, I don't believe we will ever find evidence of them.
Agree totally with this. FTL travel is almost certainty impossible without turning said travellers in to mince meat.....there certainly are other intelligences out there, the chances of two being within travelling distance, hugely unlikely.

My view too. When we look at a star, what we are actually seeing is what that star was like hundreds of years ago - unreachable unless we can travel faster than the speed of light (a lot faster for it to be practical) which we can't. And I am absolutely certain that we never will.
Aliens coming from outer space to visit us would have to solve exactly the same problem. They can't, and they haven't.
But Alien inteligence could be hundreds of thousands of years ahead of us, acheiving things we couldn't even begin to contemplate.
