You should be so lucky.I’m not being anally probed again.
Nope. Can't beat the speed of light - it's the ultimate game-crusher.Maybe they can and maybe they have...
I agree with this. Linear travel is impossible. The only way we could travel such distances would be to develop some sort of device that folds space-time, but if that is something that can be done, we're more likely to travel dimensions rather than space.Nope. Can't beat the speed of light - it's the ultimate game-crusher.
More chance of there actually being meaningful contact with aliens.Potentially big stuff happening this afternoon over the pond.
UFO congressional hearing: what to know and how we got here
David Grusch, a whistleblower former intelligence official, is among the witnesses slated to appear at hearingwww.theguardian.com
A House of Representatives committee is set to hold an eagerly-awaited hearing on UFOs on Wednesday, which is expected to see remarkable claims regarding extraterrestrial life repeated in the most high-profile setting yet.
David Grusch, a whistleblower former intelligence official who in June claimed the US has possession of “intact and partially intact” alien vehicles, is among the witnesses slated to appear, and will repeat his allegations in front of a seemingly supportive line-up of congressmen and women.
You can watch the hearing live on YouTube from 3pm GMT - https://www.youtube.com/live/KQ7Dw-739VY?feature=share
I'm pretty excited. Extra-terrestrial life has long been an interest of mine and the rumblings that have been happening this year are the most interesting yet. Or they're utter tosh, depending on what you believe.
But just imagine, if you're a sceptic, just imagine it is true. What that could mean for the human race.
I often wonder how religious groups would react. If we're made in God's image and then all of a sudden some enormous bug looking aliens show up...who's image are they made in?
Or if, as this whistleblower is alleging, we're able to reverse engineer some of the tech to create means of producing sustainable energy; what would that do to the global economy? Saudi would suddenly find their oil money doesn't quite stretch so far.
Maybe finding out we aren't alone would cause us to come together as a species and become a truly global community.
This is one of those rare occasions I imagine Swanny might have some interesting things to say.
3000 years ago the Parthenon was built with tapering columns, which appear completely straight when seen from a distance, without any computers. Technology makes things quicker but not necessarily more intelligent.Connecting billions of people through a computer network was also essentially impossible until it wasn't. Same goes for a lot of our technology. Travel back 3000 years and tell people about a future where there will be toasters and a thing called "electricity" and they'd think you're insane.
a prerequisite I'd imagineHe's a decorated soldier and veteran member of the US Intelligence services.
That doesn't preclude him from being weird of course.
The whistleblower is a former member of the intelligence services. And he isn't old. We’ve been hearing about all this gumpf for years. They usually wheel out some decorated old marine or pilot to tell everyone he once saw some lights while flying at supersonic speed and being subjected to 4G. I’m sure he did. Anyone would.
We haven’t made meaningful contact with aliens and we are unlikely to anytime soon. They probably exist but I very much doubt they have said hello yet.
It’s just wishful thinking nerds being given credibility.
At this point, I would like to highly recommend the book 'Skunk Works' by Ben Rich, which details the development of the Stealth Bomber, U2 and Blackbird. Really interesting and if you are into technology development, lots of lessons in the book about testing and learning / iterative development. No one really knew of the stealth bombers existance until around the Gulf war, but they would have been tested and developed over years which would probably explain a lot of mysterious sightings, but the military are unlikely to see it as wise to reveal what they had been doing and developing
Exactly. UFOs are unidentified flying objects, but the majority of people automatically relate them to aliens.Testimony given stating that there is nothing that anyone knows of that can turn 90 degrees during flight, etc...
However several days ago the French admitted that they carried out a hypersonic weapons test where the trail it left shows it turning through 90 degrees
When Russia and Chinese announced they had these weapons (around the time that the Russian invasion of Ukraine began, the new also reported that the US had been trying to develop their own hypersonic missisle
All this testimony seems to point to the incidents involving military weapons and technology testing, and it's highly likely that details of these weapons systems and capabilities would not be made public (why inform your enemies of your abilities and give away your advantage)

I’ll have to catch up on this specific case. The whistleblower is a former member of the intelligence services. And he isn't old.
I find it fascinating
