He's been our best player for the last 2 games (equal with Noone tonight) but yet people still aren't happy

I want to know why yet again our defence fails to close someone down, n once again results in a goal, hopefully they'll learn!

But overall think it was a fair result tonight n if 9th is where we finish this season then i'll be more than happy

He may have been good last few games and made some saves but there all saves that a goalkeeper of his standard or better would save there not top class, a better keeper would save even more he doesn't look like he has a clue when the balls crossed I think the defences has lost confidence in him hence we look rubbish af the back now

Well, apart from the shot from 30 yards that he should easily have saved and cost us two points. Before that, he was very good, as he was on Saturday. But that's what being a good goalkeeper is about, not making the errors.

If that's your idea of an error I'd hate to think what you'd do if you saw a real mistake. He had no chance with the goal.

always take on board the view of someone who has bothered to travel away...how did u rate the teams performance overall?

Once again we were better in the second half than the first but couldn't kill the game off. The penalty would have made all the difference - Far too casual. The criticism of Harley's only partly fair though. Around the edge of the box he played some tidy passes and also had a good long range shot second half. Just wish he'd stick to the basics a bit more often rather than looking for a flamboyant pass/finish. Body language/languid style means he's going to get lots of stick - reminds me a bit of Dean Wilkins in that respect and he turned out to be more than decent once the fans got off his back. Sparrow was good, especially first half. Can link the play from back to front because of his stamina. Noone was superb. Hoskins promising - some good moments.. Just looked like he needs some games. Ankegren very good. Set pieces all rubbish, but then we have hardly anyone to aim at.

Overall, bar a few dodgy moments, a good away performance where we got caught by a bolt from the blue.

All this slagging off individuals does my head in. I'd say that it's the balance of the team that's slightly wrong rather than any one player being useless. We miss someone to hold the ball up and CMS ends up too isolated because of our lightweight midfield needing help defensively. Look like we'll always score goals but always concede them too - at least it's entertaining.

100% this and others who were there tonight. We were in the upper tier which was about 2 feet above the crossbar with the goal line about 6 foot forward from us so we were in a perfect position to see the flight of the ball and Ankergren's positioning. I was to the left of the goal where it went in. As had been previously said, the ball was swerving all over the place and just snuck in under the crossbar and probably took a coat of paint off with it. Ankergren may have just got a glove to it but it had so much power, he couldn't have stopped it. His first half saves were incredible and kept us in the match.
Don't listen to commentators and then slag off players, unless you make the effort to go to the game, you should keep your opinions to yourself.

NO dont agree with this. I think Casper had a great game last night from what the radio said and am always dubious about responses to GK mistakes. However this 'I was there you were not' tosh is rubbish. Every game I have ever gone to I have missed important parts of the game. The guys on the radio see as much as anyone else.

People who went dont all agree so there is no right that those who go have to speak and no argument for those who dont go to keep their thoughths to themselves.

If you dont like something on NSC, dont read it.

Flappagran's time is up, Premiership quality goalkeeper is needed. Leeds released him when they got promoted because
they knew he was not good enough for this level.

Personally, I never comment on matches that I have not seen. I did not see this one either, other than the minute or so they showed on SSN.

All I will say is the save he made in the first half after which Millwall knocked the rebound over the bar from 2 yards was OUTSTANDING. There are not many keepers who would have saved that. If those that saw the game say that he was MoM and kept us in it first half, then I am happy to go along with that.

How many calling for Ankergren's head were at the game last night. he made some really good saves last night and i didn't see evidence of any "flapping". As for the goal my first instinct was "wonder goal" so not convinced he was entirely at fault. Casper was also by many peoples estimation MOM on Saturday.

I love this. On here, we're always saying how brilliant our fans are. (Obviously too busy patting each other on the back to fill our away allocation).
Then following each game there are 37 threads, ripping our players to pieces.
Great fans my arse!

Cant believe the over reaction on here, he was along with sparrow and noone one of our better players last night.
Didnt think there was anything he could do about the goal but was in the far left corner so havnt seen any replays yet but it went right in the corner and most keepers wouldnt have saved it.

Would think that the majority who were at the game would have said he played well AGAIN, didnt think he flapped at anything.

Enough mistakes.

Not at the game I presume.

He played very well. I was stood in direct line with shot whch was a very good one and it dipped into the bottom corner. It would have been a top save, like some of the others he made and the game he had against Hull.

What folks should also realise is that very few goalies can play the passing game he does. He acts as an extra player that allows us to build from the back. We won't find that easily.

At last someone like me who was at the match last night that is talking absolute sense. I agree with everything you say mate. We all realsie that we are by no means the finished product yet, but we certainly arent that far off. The dreadful pen miss has clouded people's minds (naturally) but overall we were the better team by far. There's was a wonder strike that if it had been KLL we would have all been purring like mad! Casper made some great saves. Ryan looks lazy but oozes class at times and WILL prove all the doubters wrong trust me. BTW, beginning to like Spadge in the middle of the park!

Thanks...tht gives me a far better idea of the game..one that in days gone by we probably would have lost ...we aren't a bad side and can beat anyone in this division on our day...a win would do wonders for confidence

From where I was sat, it looked like he should have done better with it as it appeared to go straight through his hands and you'd expect him to get at least a touch on it. Having said that, we were at a poor angle to see the swerve and bend and it was a fantastic effort. Pulled off a great save in the first half as well.

Regardless, more concerning than the goal was the couple of crosses he totally flapped at including one he dropped. Eventually one of those will fall at a strikers feet and that will cost us. Can't say I'm overly confident about him dealing with a potentail aerial bombardment from West Ham next week

If we have genuine designs on the top six then he will need to be replaced. The alternatives aren't good enough and so Gus has made his bed by not signing another keeper and we are stuck with him until at least January before a permanent replacement could be brought in. Might as well get behind him in that case and hope we don't face too many crosses into the box in the meantime
