I know, It is seen as racist by our society, But IMO, it's not. Just the way that 'racism' has grown over the years, and become such a touchy subject, things are now considered racist, when in fact, they are not meant in such way.

I disagree, calling someone a black tosser in my view is racist. You are using the word in a hateful way. If you called someone a tosser it wouldn't be for fun would it, to throw the word black is makes it a racist attack.

Saying "I hate black people" is a completely different scenario. Gus is drawing attention to how we use the word in our different countries, but what you've said there is that you do not like a race of people because of their skin colour - thats racist.

In normal circumstances, I'm inclined not to hurry to remove threads from NSC - because opinions that offend are often best dealt with by other posters rolling their sleeves up and getting stuck into a good argument. In this particular instance, though, the thread title and the accompanying post were so obviously in breach of the rules that there was no doubt whatsoever that the only appropriate action was to remove the thread.
