Good point.

Gus clearly wants a Spanish speaking keeper, to work with his dream back four of Tarrico / Jara / Vicente / Calderon

Could do a lot worse than Manuel Almunia from Arsenal. I know his wages would be expensive and he's made one or two high-profile mistakes but he'd be mustard in the Championship. Had a spell on loan at West Ham earlier on in the season. Third choice keeper now at the Gooners behind Wojciech Szczesny and Lukasz Flapianski (who is worse than Almunia).

What about Hilario at Chelsea now 3rd choice behind Cezch and Turnbull. I would love us to sign a promising 20 year old and bring him on gradually rather than have 3 older keeprs a No 1 and a back up plus a young keeper as No 3. Still think questions should be asked of Tony Godden our GK Coach, what is he doing with the keepers?

29 is young for a modern keeper...... everybody is talking as if this Gonzalez guy is shit and speak no English?? He has been on loan at Leeds in 2008, at Aberdeen signed for Man city, so I guess he speaks a bit of English? and can't be completely shit.

Go for it Gus, if he's the one you think will add something.

Sounds promising... but SWOOP?? can't they think of anything original?

Worst thing is Sky use it EVERY time when we have some link with a play. I think I've seen it THREE times this week now including this one.

Sky Sports News SWOOP in for some more bullshit rumours about signings by Brighton

Sky Sports News can report Gus Poyet has confirmed Real Madrid in SWOOP for Lewis Dunk for a 25 million fee

As seagulls scavenge as much as they swoop they could try:
Seagulls scavenge Columbian keeper :)

Is that a problem for the rest of the season. Dave Beasant was older when he joined us and did a good job. Are you saying if Arry offered us Cudicini you would say thanks but no thanks he is too old.

i'd have him, but you said you wanted a 20 year old

cudicini seems quite happy being a number 3.......as does hilario (if you look at his record he seems to have always been a back up)

Then again... maybe not...

"CRAIG BROWN is set to axe cock-up keeper David Gonzalez after he cost Aberdeen a crucial victory at Dunfermline. The on-loan Manchester City goalie, who will return to Eastlands next month, committed two howlers to hand the Fifers a share of the points."

Aberdeen to give Jason Brown chance to shine after loan keeper David Gonzalez howlers - The Daily Record
I need more detail on these so called errors.... for example, was he attempting a scorpion kick?

I wasnt talking of immediately but in the summer, sorry didnt make myself clear. At the moment we have 3 keepers although Poke is out on loan my view was to replace Poke with a 20 year old and make either Brezovan or Ankergren No 2 and release the other one. Hilario would be a stop gap loan for the rest of the season rather than sign another untried keeper on a longish contract.

in my opinion ankergren and brezovan are both ok......we're not going to get promoted with either in goal, but they're reasonable keepers for mid table

at the same time there is no point in having two keepers who are both 'ok' with similar levels of ability, so i agree BG at least one of them has to go in the summer......probably with poke as well

like gus has done with the likes of sampayo, rogers, simmonds, kasim etc. get a young keeper in for the development squad (poke is 26), maybe keep one of CA and PB and get a good number 1....and i mean he has to be quite considerably better than what we have now
