Posters should be able to say exactly what they think on here. That's what the forum is for.

This guy likes to mix it and start bad feeling. Let's just say " he has form "

It is fair to say Craig was dreadful tonight and looked out of sorts and out of his depth. A sad day as I never thought I would say that. I think Craig needs a new club next season as it has not worked out for him here but I wish him all the best.

I think you have nailed it. I feel desperately sorry because he is a great lad and a model professional. We can keep exploring the reasons behind it but the bottom line is it isnt working for him and as long as Gus keeps to the same system it wont. Cant help wondering why Gus signed him in the first place if he knew or should have known that our style wouldnt suit him.

One question. How many times did he get the ball passed to him, to feet or even close to him, in the 18yd box?

I can remember one and that was it. He managed to squeeze a left foot shot in, lacked a bit of power but was a tricky chance and a decent save from the keeper.

Most of the balls into him were with his back to goal 30-40yds from goal. Not many strikers would score many goals with that service. I admit that his first touch was not great tonight and a lot bounced off him.

I haven't given up on him yet and hope he stays with us.

Keep the faith.

I personally do not think it has/will work out for CMS here and think he will be sold in the summer. The only person that should be criticised for this is Gus Poyet. To target a player like he did with CMS, spend that amount of money on him, sell the club to him, sell the style of play to him and then leave him isolated up front, playing with his back to goal and getting half a chance a game at best in the 18 yard box is baffling. CMS has run himself into the ground and is attitude cannot be questioned but as the season has gone on he has become more and more rusty due to a lack of service and clear cut chances.

Spot on!

Starting a critical thread about a player who gives everything makes you a prize c**t.

I may or may not agree that he is out of his depth, but yoir spouting should not be on a public forum as it cannot help either the player or the club.

Are you related to CMS?
I agree with the OP, CMS was the worst BHA player on the pitch tonight.
The team probably had their best 90 minutes of the season, yet, CMS let the side down. He is not up to the task. Gus must take much of the blame. A very good manager but unfortunately has failed to bring in a top or decent
forward to the club todate! Ferguson must have been laughing his socks off tonight.

No he hasn't let the side down. No-one who works their hardest lets the side down, but CMS simply hasn't been good enough for 70% of the season. The games where we was quality (Sunderland, Blackpool, Leeds) seem a long long time ago now. I really don't understand how it has gone quite so wrong for him. Or more accurately, I don't understand how it went so right for him back then!

:(

True Simster. He started the season RED HOT but has got about 4 goals in 30 games since. I don't know what's gone wrong but it certainly has. A real shame as I LOVE the guy.

Ees complicated, I'm trying to look at things with a mature reasoned eye, and listen to his defenders on here saying he's not getting the service etc but looking at it from a footballing point of view he can't trap the ball, beat people 1-on-1 or shoot from range. I've never seen him do any of those things and for that reason it's a shame but he's got to go.
Navarro, El Abd and Vicente were outstanding tonight, with Reyes, Cald and Greer doing a good job but everyone else were pretty disappointing. Dicker was invisible but not being match fit can't be criticized . That's my tupenny for what it's worth.

You lot have been slating me for weeks because of my comments about smith not fitting into the way our team plays now you seem to agree , it`s too fcuking late for this season, and who the fcuk is going to buy a 10 goal striker for next season.3.5 million for Smith is the worst purchase our club has ever made. After saying that the man who never made a mistake never made anything, Gus is still the best man for the job.

From where I was sitting in the North Stand I have to agree with the thread starter & very reluctantly agree that CMS was the weakest link in the side tonight. Poor ball control doesn't help. When he is given the ball it seems to bounce off him. Time for Craig to be dropped. A long season has taken it's toll.
Excuses have run out. 12 goals is not good enough.

Not the real one
Some on here are f***ing idiots, including the op! CMS is quality. We don't play to his strengths, he's got 11 goals, is a right nuisance for an opposition defense and I'd rather have him than not have him. I think the side was worse off when he went off and vokes came on. Shame on some of you......

Then again, we have similar roots to Reading ( although I've always vouched we're bigger and better than Reading) and despite their recent wealthy history and being top of the league we played them off the park! Next season is going to be EVEN BETTER.
