I don't think anyone denies this now, although we received Murray on a free and clearly on less wages. You have paid 2.5 million plus extra wages for someone who scord 5 league goals more.

By the sounds of it, you're trying to follow the Mark Goldberg business strategy!

At the end of the day if you're making comparisons between CMS and Murray , our number 12 is a thoroughbred racehorse , Judas is a pit pony.

Its not always about goal ratio even though CMS actually scored 35 goals last season in all competitions, murray recieved quality service while CMS made most himself.

He also played 11 games more than Murray. They're both good players, let's just leave it at that.

I know for a fact that Murray is on a £16k per week, a £2K goal bonus and £450k per year for keeping you up.

So not far off what we are allegedly paying CMS.

So when do you reckon you will go into admin - I reckon around Easter time.
That's incorrect to the tune of 50%.

£8k per week. Decent signing-on fee. 3 year contract.

Murray wanted 3 years, Brighton offered 2.
So you are in agreement then... If BHA wanted to keep hold of Murray we could have, however, we didn't want to meet his wage demands?!
It was said on here Gus offered to double his wages which would be £7k. But, the offer was only for 2 years.

So, he wanted to keep him, but not to the tune of a 3 year deal.

I was told by a club worker that we offered to double Murray's wages but he wanted quadruple (which ties in with the 16K previously mentioned)
I'm not inclined to believe anything you say after you had stated that Murray was definitely at Beckenham having a medical right at the start of the saga, when, in fact, he had a medical a few weeks later.

If I had a pound for everytime I'd heard you say that, I could pay them back myself.

Seriously, you need to find a new routine. You're quite boring now, don't you have someones metre to read or boiler to fix?

Because you choose to ignore it, it doesn't mean the rest of us do. Brighton have the sales to pay for its spending, palace spent other people's money to cling on to the championship then failed top pay them back. As for a new record, well how about :-

- A Charity Shield v the simod auto windscreen trophy
- In 1983 Brighton got to the cup final, palace followed us there a few years later
- When Brighton demonstrate its York City game, and first item on the national news, when palace do its a few teenagers getting laughed at in the city
- Brighton sell 18500 season tickets and have a waiting list. Palace have limped to 8000 or 9000

Cheerio, best I end there as I dont want to totally destroy your faith in the palace!

He was at the club that day with the physio and Club Doctor after meeting Dougie, Lennie and Steve Kember. Full medicals as mentioned previously take place in the hospital. And as Glenn had a shoulder injury over the summer, that would guarantee a trip to our local hospital for extra tests.

This could go on forever, but you are wrong. Sorry.
No, you are wrong on this.

Our wage cap is £12k per week. Which is what Ambrose is on. It is also what Danns was offered, and not far off what Speroni and McCarthy are on.

Due to Murray getting a lot of money up front, his wage is about £3.5k lower but with certain clauses/escalators on both sides. Should he perform well, he'll get his wages upped during his contract like other players. Which is what happened with Paddy, Julian, Darren and a few others.

Thanks for the info , a useful heads up to know how much he'll be on when he signs for The Albion.

I wonder if any Palace fans have bothered to search through the history of this board and find the numerous threads (from a long time prior to his leaving, it should be added) absolutely panning Glenn Murray for his attitude and general demeanour.

I think they'll find that Glenda is over paid by £11,999.99 per week and will soon be baying for blood rather than crowing about taking him from the Albion.

Yep but he is a good player, but Poyet who knows a thing or two about football decided his value did not match what others were prepared to pay. I think its because he is slow but skilfull and he does not track back. Poyet wants possession football and to hunt in packs for the ball when they don't have it. A slow forward who wont tackle doesn't come into Poyet's plans. But he can play and palace have a good player. I just hope Murray has got his money up front!

he is on over 20k a week i know a director from one of the other clubs . They were gobsmacked you were offering that ! but if your chairman wants to underwrite that fair play , the biggest concern i would have is team morale.

How would "a director from one of the other clubs" be privvy to this information? I mean if his agent was trying to get him better money, I am sure he wouldn't mind fibbing a little, to up the offer from others.

Oh dear Paul, wage cap??!!

I think you will find Ambrose in on just shy of £15k a week - he has apparently asked to match Glenn Murray's wage but Palace are reluctant due to your poor season ticket sales, hence the interest from BHA as his agent has been touting him about - apparently Gus is not keen.

Take it or leave it - that's the truth. I doubt very much you know otherwise.

I suspect it's also because he doesn't come across as the life and soul, does he? I accept that not everyone wants to be the centre of attention at all times, but the impression he always gave was that he was a moody so and so. Check out all the promotion celebrations: almost without exception he's standing at the back, looking like he's really not that bothered. Granted, he was probably already minded to leave by that point but even so, as a footballer, surely you'd still enjoy the moment? Every time you saw one of those questionnaires they put in match programmes, the other players would say he was a grumpy sod. Maybe in jest, maybe not so much? No matter what he did on the pitch, he was never taken to the crowd's hearts like, say, Elliott Bennett was, because he never seemed to want to be part of the whole thing like all the others did. It often felt to me like the fans were an occupational hazard to Murray, something to be endured rather than enjoyed.

I would LOVE to know what the other players really thought of him, whether he's just the quiet type or whether they do, in fact, think he's actually a massive twat.

Still a decent player, mind.
