Who cares what he is on. If the club think they can afford to pay that much for a player then let them do it...jeez what are people gonna do when we get into the prem in a couple of years time?

although i am more cautiously optimistic than the above... i do agree with the attitude. all this 'oh no can we afford x transfer fee or x amount of wages?! omgz lol?!!!!?!@1!' ... i'm sure the club knows what it's doing! let them fret about it and enjoy the delicious creamy run-off! yes we spent millions on one player! it's f***ing sweet!!!! we still aren't paying him £22,000 though! that's just SILLY talk.

We're NOT in the Prem though, and £22,500 a week is more akin to a Premiership wage than a Championship one.

He won't be on anything like that. Maybe (MAYBE) £15k absolute tops with a healthy bonus built in linked to goals. £22.5k is mad money for this league and for that player. And thats not TB's style.

I also play in (and donate to) the REMF game every year (and have met, and got on with, a few of you that way - the big centre back you all call Ruddock), have a number of Brighton-supporting mates, and post on here very occasionally.

I've no interest in making shit up about your club just for the sake of currying favour with fellow Palace fans. Neither am I trying to claim that I know the ins and out of B&HA - in this instance I was only reporting what I'd been told by a very reliable source from a previous job.

What a complete load of utter CACK. £22,500 per week is probably the wage total for our entire Defence including Goalkeeper. Gordon Greer was supposedly on about 4k last season so for another player to be paid nearly SIX TIMES that is completely ludicrous and is certainly not the case. Palace can try and talk up the Craig Mackail Smith tranfer as a "money move" all they want to try and put evidence to the claim that Murray is a far more financialy ethical signing and for some deluded reason are therefore the same value. But the fact is, even if they win that argument, CMS is at the end of the day the better player and they are so f***ing jealous that we have him!

I simply cannot wait until we finally get to turn the over at the AMEX this season. I am not going to come on here and preach about "who is the bigger club" etc but one thing I find unbeleivabe is the total and utter deluded notion that because of the two deals, Murray is the better player. Palace fans, stop kidding yourselves, it is quite embarassing. Take your tinted specs off and admit we have the better player and he is worth every bloody penny considering he SMASHED 35 goals last season compared to Murray's 22.

Stop trying to also make out we are some Southampton esque, big money spending, billy big bollocks club. We are not. Instead we are a fantastic community club with a BRILLIANT set up right from the Chairman-Kit Man. We have NOT got here through spending big money, as illustrated by last summer where Gus cannily brought in players such as Kishishev on free's and have a local chairman who bleeds Blue and White that will back us to the hills... And he is also f***ing FLAIR :lizard:

Good Day.

he is on over 20k a week i know a director from one of the other clubs . They were gobsmacked you were offering that ! but if your chairman wants to underwrite that fair play , the biggest concern i would have is team morale.

Everybody seems to know a director or a family member of a director. I'm beginning to feel left out.
FWIW I think this is internet nonsense.

I know how you feel, I feel like a second class citizen on here as I don't have a source.

Just found out that reason he chose Brighton is he's on £22,500 a week.

Seaweed have lost the plot.

Benzhiyi knows this because he has a...

Media source.

(With a family link to a director at one of the clubs involved in the transfer.)

I know there's a fair bit of jealousy knocking about on the Palace BBS for various reasons, but they really are pushing the boat out to portray us as a bunch of idiotic spendthrifts throwing money about all over the shop.

If CMS is on anything like that kind of cash, I will eat my own face.

Benzhiyi is an old mate of mine from my days on ZOO magazine. He does have his sources. Still think it's a load of old bollocks, though.

I wouldn't believe anything that comes out of m.c.palace - especially if it involves money.
