What we have to understand is that the Palace fans are getting worried about us and are doing ALL THEY CAN to discredit us...and as a previous poster mentioned, justify their gloating about Murray - a player we clearly did not want as much as them.

Bless 'em.

CMS, his agent and the relevant people at our club who arranged his contract will know his wages. Would a club director discuss a players wages with a family member...who then in turn tells some pikey magazine writer???? I doubt it. My guess would be somewhere between 10-15k.........but it still goes to show we could have easily kept Murray if Gus had wanted him. If he was on 22K then we can obviously afford that...Blooms not silly. How times have changed at little old Brighton!!!!

I've met the guy who made the original post on the BBS, I think once, and he seemed like a geniune bloke, not the type to think making things up on a message board is in anyway 'hilarious' or point scoring.

However, I suspect he has been misinformed, as I can't for one minute believe that the wages quoted are correct.

. know there's a fair bit of jealousy knocking about on the Palace BBS for various reasons, but they really are pushing the boat out to portray us as a bunch of idiotic spendthrifts throwing money about all over the shop.

If CMS is on anything like that kind of cash, I will eat my own face.

I'd be quite prepared to believe he is on £22,500 a MONTH.

There was a financial element in CM-S joining us instead of WHU. They bid more than ourselves and Leicester but Posh needed money up front, not an IOU from the pornboys. Source? Darragh MacAnthony. I think you can disregard Allardyce's comments, as everyone actually involved has.

its what i think aswell, but im not really fussed as his here now, and i think will take the club forward. I think big sam is a bit bitter about the move, but he has turned down some big clubs to come here and to me i can only think have offered better wages.

And before people say West Ham etc.... can over better wages, they probably can but they also know limits, CMS has not really performed at this level yet. Maybe thats why they didnt match Brightons offer, and if it is as high as you say it is then im not surprised.

No he hasn't, he said himself that there were no other offers.

He told the Transfer Tavern: “I didn’t really have any offers from the Premier League. I spoke to a few but nothing came from it. I want to play in the Premier League and when the opportunity comes and it’s the right opportunity then I’ll definitely take it.

Makes it quite clear that he is off as soon as a big club comes in, but don't worry, that means he will probably have to play out his contract :D
