I’m finding it really difficult to understand this post. The brackets, clauses, and caveats are confusing. I’ve tried three times. Maybe it’s me.
OR - if only club let you share your ticket with anyone for free - the ground would be full. It won’t.

Or / if only club let you buy a season ticket and not turn up then there aren’t rules and sanctions relating to that. There are.

Morning, Jem. Hope you had a good Christmas.

Could you provide a link to the rule &/or sanction that relates to the club’s ability to resell your ST seat in season please.

I ask because I can clearly see a T&C that says the club may refuse to renew your ST if you attended fewer than 25% of the eligible games in the previous season, but I can see nothing that says they reserve the right to sell your ST in the season in which your attendance is poor.

TIA. UTA.

If the club have done that - then I’m perplexed unless there are other circumstances . I certainly don’t think that is fair - although I’d expect comms from the club reminding me of sanctions or ways to share / resell if I’d missed 8 games in a row certainly well before they took any action.

I'm sure this thread has gone on far longer than the OP was expecting or even wanting!
Ive read the majority of this thread and the consensus seems to be that there is something not quite adding up. Either the club have singled one person out for missing a few games and this seems very unlikely but not impossible -or, and IMO this seems more likely- there is something else that the OP, and us, are unaware of.
Its unlikely we will ever know unless this is resolved and the OPs friend lets us all know the outcome and reasoning
It has however been an entertaining read to dip in over Christmas

I know people who don't do west ham away as the view is shit, the food is overpriced, poor drinks, and stewards treat away fans like criminals.

It's not so much what's good as what can be awful
Oh come on. That's completely different. No-one is suggesting we should give away fans a shite experierence.

But rolling out the carpet for away fans, giving them premium seating, local ales and lighting in their colours? No other club does that.

Same. There doesn’t seem to be anything in the ST T&Cs which suggests the club can do this. I can only conclude there’s more to this than the OP is aware of.

When the amex was built many teams had away ends we didn't have any corners. Other teams do ales, lighting, signs for away fans. Munich do 2 of the 3, many teams did at least 1.

Don't act dumb, you know the difference between selling out of tickets and a full attendance. If people have tickets and chose not to go, there's not much the club can do about it on the day.
Isn’t the whole point of this thread that they are doing something?

Something that’s to the detriment of paying customers?

And I’m not acting dumb. I’ve made my thoughts on the way the club treats paying fans abundantly clear, as well as my thoughts on the ticketing system we have in place, which is based on my experiences of it.

You’re entitled to disagree, but no one’s yet made a compelling argument to change my mind.

And you think this attracts away fans who otherwise might not go?
Im sure Barber said at around the time of opening, that because many fans are only be able to go to one or two away matches a season, and Brighton, being on the south coast was likely to be for a lot of clubs the furthest away, and therefore the most expensive and difficult to get to. The idea was, that if we made it a good away day, (local beers, not treating them like shit, you know basic human decency) then more would chose Brighton as one of their matches to attend. This is good for the club and the city-see the reports on how much income it brings to the area.

We have IIRC been voted on a number of occasions one of the best away days in the prem, so in answer to your question, YES it does all attract fans, to the club and city.

I think that there are numerous posts on here about how some clubs treat away fans, that facilities are crap for away fans and I think its good that Brighton arent like that. As others have said, when opened the structure meant it was difficult to segregate away fans if they were in west or east. Options on where to locate up to 3000 away fans were limited, now that that has been resolved the club are moving the away support. I can really see any reason why we wouldnt want away fans to have a good experience (other than on the pitch). Its a win for everyone

You said 'no other clubs did that' I'm pointing out that they do

In the championship it may have made a difference if say a team from Lancashire (e.g.wigan) has 3 long away games in a row (Bournemouth, Southampton and brighton) as to which one they choose. In the prem, not so much

This is what I was questioning...I couldn't see anything in there either...Someone previously on this thread posted the wording from an email which sounds like it might be the one that went to the OP's friends spam. That email declares the expected attendance level that the club wants before it will take action itself to fill the vacant seat, but if that wasn't in the T's and C's at the time of purchase...then as you say there is either a) more to this than alluded or b) what the club is doing isn't contractually correct which would really suprise me.

Just to be clear, I'm more than happy for unused ST's to go back on the ticket exchange, but as long as the ST holder is aware this is being done on their behalf as they have failed some test that was 100% clear at purchase, or has listed it themselves...

LOL. Would love you to provide evidence of this, where fans have specifically mentioned local ales, lighting, padded seats etc. It's BS.

There isn’t. My friend has been communicating with me regularly as he’s been following this thread and the responses on NSC’s facebook, he’s read enough to be prepared to go back to the club (again) to seek a satisfactory resolution, ultimately we’re hoping to share positive news.

The thing is, its never ONE thing. Its a combination of everything, decent seats, reasonable toilets, in fact all of things @Wozza apparently thinks is BS. It costs a shed load of money to travel from say Newcastle to Brighton by train, maybe staying overnight, so people are increasingly choosy about which matches they can attend. By creating just a nice place to go- as compared to say the piss drenched toilets, awful stand , and view of say Selhurst where are people more likely to want to go to. It isnt 1975 anymore, we dont have to "suffer" going to a football match, get treated like shit, stand in piss in the toilets. get rained on, and get treated like cattle. There is nothing wrong in actually enjoying the experience of going to a football match, rather than some sado masochistic pride in enduring it to prove you are a real supporter.

Don’t think so…whether the minimum attendance is contractual or not Is the point as I’ve repeatedly said…but hey ho…
You said “I'm finding it difficult to understand this entire thread. I though it was about the fact that soeone didn't realise there was minimum attendance on your season ticket!

Which is wrong, the thread was an inquiry as to whether anyone else had received the same punishment, which judging by the replies they haven’t.
