How does supporting one of the Top 30 ranked teams in Europe sound, you bunch of glory hunters?

Am I reading this right, in that it suggests we have a higher ranking than the average Europa League side?

Yes - This isn't a UEFA ranking system. It is purely based on beating the team that beat the team. Currently 5 of the top 10 ranked sides are in the premier league, which is the strongest ranked league in Europe. Two draws against 5th ranked Chelsea and one against 12th ranked West Ham are more meaningful in this context than an away trip to Skonto Riga
Understood - but more specifically, you see the score of 1727 next to the Europa League logo? Does that mean the average points total for a UEL team is 1727?
If so that's impressive, and sorta suggests that we "deserve" to be in the Europa League, local coefficients notwithstanding.
Elo calculator gives 23% expectation of Albion win. Which is very close to bookie odds.Do we jump a place if we win at Old Trafford?
It's a ranking system that awards (or removes) points based on the result of every single match a club plays.
......
Thanks for that. Makes sense now.
Was that 24th in the world?! Lovely stuff.

No Villa or LeedsThrashing the third best side in Europe cements our ranking in 18th place. Closer to AC Milan than Borussia Dortmund. Crazy times! Still not convinced we can overcome 9 man Walsall deploying a low block though.
