[Albion] Club cancelling ST due to non-attendance

Here is another take.

We no longer get gates of 2500 at Gillingham or 6000 at Withdean.

We are no longer in divisions 3 and 4.

We are no longer on telly once a year whether we want to watch or not.

We are no longer owned by Dick Tight and his tiny pot that he can't even piss in.

If you want to survive in a rewarding but hostile environment, you have to wear the right gear, have the right equipment, and know what the f*** you are doing.

That includes protecting the business.

Anyone who doesn't understand that or doesn't like it, Lewes, Crawley, Worthing and other amateur outfits are available for a cheery pint, PotG and possibly even a free car park.

Godspeed.
What utter f***ing bullocks. Really surprised from you, as well.

They restrict the away fans, not the home fans. Loads don't turn up because of the supposed inconvenience which, at the end of the day is pretty minor.
Yes . I think @Justice is trying to make the point that Albion fan loyalty or demand is fickle . Fair enough. Not sure how a sold out but smaller Palace crowd (or tickets sold) helps there .

But that wouldn't account for the reduction in the pretendence.

Unless people decide to not go, put their ticket on exchange, and it doesn't sell. Which would never happen for Palace.

No, the attendance is down due to 'security' issues blocking seats as several have stated.

Yet another example of the club treating fans like kids. It's disgusting they do this. Just call the fan if they haven't attended and maybe check in to see if they are OK before pulling the plug as they could be having a horrible time and not be in the right head space to let the club know. Why we have to is beyond me.
The clubs sends emails. Yes. DISGUSTING.

What are they supposed to do ? Employ a team of social workers to check up on fans if they've missed a few games ? Maybe send Simon Fanshawe round their to house with a flask of cocoa and a couple of self-help leaflets ?

I mean christ.

Yes. The police restrict attendance for security reasons. .

1500 tickets on the exchange didn’t sell for Palace allegedly.

I stand corrected

(and feel a little more alive to find that people don't really want to see that shite down here and would rather go down Churchill Square and pick their noses :lolol: )

Loads also don’t turn up because this is the one match of the year which is not family friendly (for obvious reasons). The gaps in the family stand (from my WSU perspective) were telling. I can understand why plenty of parents don’t want their kids hearing the constant abusive shouting and chants or running the risk of seeing the black coat goon squad.

If you looked at the East stand, there were quite a few empty seats. Many parents won’t take their younger kids to a Palace match. Even though it went off relatively well, crowd wise, there were still eight arrests.

What are you on about? Are you referring to the slightly larger separation between the two sets of fans? That hardly going to make a difference. As others have posted, it down to people deciding not to turn up. The fact that 1500ish tickets weren't sold is testament to that. The 'pretendence' would have to account for those unsold seats.

I believe we give palace the same amount of tickets they give us.

Because protecting a business does not mean taking fans for mugs at every opportunity with 'fees' and 'warnings' to cancel tickets or even, 'how to support' the club. As has recently happened.

Usually agree with you, but don't on this I'm sorry to say.
How to support the club! Take a look at this forum and see how frequent the threads are about how the north stand can't generate a unified atmosphere, fans telling others how to 'support' the club!! Watching footie is far more expensive now, get used to it. As I posted previously, we get treated far better than a lot of fans at other EPL clubs.

You mean, the club were telling us not to act complete bell-ends at away games?

You may be right.

But where did you find that 1,500 tickets were not sold, as opposed to were not put on sale?
