It was a regional court decision and the Chancellor has promised to reverse it.

Luckily laws can be reversed easily unlike circumcision.

Personally I think it's a very very odd practice, but if chopping the end of your knob off gives you some people a sense of identity I'm not going to argue.

Slightly unfortunate for it to happen in Germany mind.

I'm speaking from the experience of being circumcised and knowing that it is not harmful.

This is the reality of the female experience WHO | Female genital mutilation

They are both the act of cutting off a part of someone's body without their consent for traditional/religious/cultural reasons. The difference is that female circumcision takes place in huts in the wild, and foreskin circumcision takes place in hospitals or with clinical training.

There may be health benefits to foreskin removal, but none of those are the reasons given by religions for circumcising babies.

Total bollocks (no pun) if you are referring to men.

Female genital mutilation is entirely different and is illegal in the UK.

Men who have been cut have less sensitive helmets(dunno the medical term) which is a decrece in sensitivity during sex. there are medical complications from male cutting. I sujest you educate yourself rather than spouting bollox about it affirming your non-nazihood.

I'm watching this.........

Dont like the idea of male or female circumcision, think its fairly barbaric in this day and age, but im curious to know why a foresking is cut, and a clitoris is 'hacked'...

One of those issues that Germany should keep out of. I don't have a religious bone in my body but was circumcised as a baby because my father, grandfather, greatgrandfather, etc before me were. Being born 18 years after the liberation of the death camps I also happen to regard it as an affirmation of my existence and the defeat of the Nazis. If some people find that too melodramatic for their tastes, tough shit.

I see that this could be an argument against banning circumcision outright, but why is it an argument in favour of circumcision before the child (baby) is old enough to decide for themselves? Genuine question.

Dear oh dear.

My heart went out to the doctor who did circumcisions, saved up the snippings and sewed them together to make ladies handbags.

He charged £373 per bag,and when a customer asked why they were so expensive he explained that if you stroked them they turned into a suitcase.

I've never heard of a case where a man who was circumcised as a baby had a serious complaint about it as an adult. It just seems to be other people imposing their views on an ethnic minority.

why is it acceptable to do it to a man and not a women i dont get that

One is removing a small piece of skin the other is removing the primary object that gives women sexual satisfaction.

errr, think about it??

Seriously, if you can't see the difference then I'm not going to argue with you.

I don't think it should be done either way, but PHYSICALLY, very different.

Physically different yes, but morally whats the difference, why cant Muslim do that to women but its acceptable for one religion, i dont get why its ok to cut one persons body part without permission but not anothers

I couldn't give a f*** about religion. Physically it's completely different. Plenty of men get circumcised and it has nothing to do with religion. Wouldn't have it done to a son of mine and haven't had it done to myself but plenty of people do have it done.

Female circumcision can not be talked about in the same way IMO

Nothing to do with ethnic minorities though is it? Ancient Egyptians and many old African tribes practiced it. Nowadays not only Jews, Muslims, and Africans but also the majority of Americans are routinely circumcised. (Due to the belief just over 100 years ago of the dangers of 'masturbatory insanity'.) I however feel quite attached to my foreskin. (although it has nothing to do with my existence or that we defeated the Nazis.)
