My philosophy on all food is that I want to taste all the flavours in my last mouthful as I did in the first. This discounts many Indian dishes but there are a few I do enjoy, and the bhaghis, naans and popadums too.

But for me, the Chinese just wins by a nose ...

I’m a curry guy. I like a Chinese too (king prawn balls, sweet & sour sauce, fried rice is my go to - come at me, I like simple tasty food).

But push comes to shove I’ll take an Indian curry every time.

Chinese every time.

Curry is hugely overrated slop.

I quite like some of the sundries, accompanying dips and sauces but the main is all just slight variations on the same boring flavours.

I don’t mind having a curry out. I don’t find it offensive but I do always feel that behind the waiter’s smiles there is a raging hatred for all British, from the old days of the Raj to the rude drunken slobs who frequent their restaurants today.
Disagree with it all. Funny as I feel that way about a lot of the Chinese that serve the food . However pretty sure the Indians like us

Curry every time.

most chinese dishes seem to be packed out with huge chunks of onion -
Crispy duck and pancakes is superb though
Oh yes! Actually I take it all back, give me a massive stack of these with seaweed and hoisin

I don't mind either but Curry is the clear winner. Unfair to call curry slop and all the same. You obviously haven't tried the right dishes or gone to the right places as there's a huge range if you ignore the "Traditional curries" section.

Just far enough away from LDC
There are more Indian take aways I like than Chinese ones. So many overdo msg in Chinese. Where I live there is just one decent Chinese and it's 4 miles away.

Whereas there are 6 or 7 Indians that deliver. Each different and some brilliant ones in terms of quality and dish variety

I had a Gurkha curry in Torquay a few years ago, best curry I ever had, including a couple in Bombay( Mumbai).
When I went back this summer for a weekend, it had shut down.

Inconsolable.

There's one in Newton Abbot, just along from the station. My brother-in-law swears by it but last time I had food from there it was poor.

For me it's Indian every time, unless it's the Cottage in Shoreham, in which case it's scavenge in the bin outside the co-op.
