I think there is a massive difference in your post and well behaved son in a pub when he was a kid to many of the stories coming out on this thread. Some people don’t give a f****** shit about how their kids behave in public unfortunately
Either that or they think it's an extension of their own front room.

Can I just say, I live in Seaford, and for a town with so many pubs, there isn’t a single one I like and actually go to. The food in The Old Boot used to be good, but last time I went it was gash. I’ve had the worst pint I’ve ever been served in Seaford.

Incredibly shit pubs here

Just go somewhere else. Kids are out with parents in bars and all sorts until crazy hours in the Mediterranean and we love it. On holiday.

But it's pretty healthy.

There are plenty of drinking places you can go to, but you have to choose your weapon.
You won’t see Mediterranean parents who look or act like brits

In my defence, I was left unsupervised.

Actually I think the balance is about right. When our kids were younger we used to take them to the Bugle off Lewes Road. Children were allowed in one room and had to be gone by 9 o'clock. Nowadays we take our grandson to the Swiss Cottage in Shoreham. That's full of kids. Everybody knows it and if you want a child-free evening - avoid it. On the other hand the Red Lion is a bit more 'grown-up'. (They don't have a children's menu for a start). I don't think they ban kids per se, but I've only ever seen the odd one sitting quietly.

Having said that even in a 'family friendly' pub there is nothing worse than someone allowing their kids to run amuck, screaming etc. The person who compared them to dogs (the owners are the problem) was spot on.

Mums at home with the kids, making dinner.

Dads in pubs with their mates until it’s time to go home for dinner.

It’s not hard to get. Is it?
A couple of pints of Watney's certainly sets you up for a Fray Bentos or maybe some Findus crispy pancakes and a post dinner televisual feast of the Generation Game followed by Jim Davidson.

Thoughts on the Steamworks?

You're missing the point again but at least your claim to be a publican explains the anger issues you quite clearly have.
No you are. You made a snide remark about my avatar which has literally no relevance to this thread. So tell me, what has children running around pubs got to do with the Israeli genocide?

Doesn’t feel like being in a pub, yes I know it’s an old station waiting room and that’s exactly what it feels like but with a bar. Had to ask the bar staff for a key to visit the toilet on the platform.
I haven’t been in there for a few years but wasn’t really impressed.
Useful on a match day when waiting for the train though I imagine

Point of order: war in Gaza but please, do not perpetuate the misuse of the word genocide. Hundreds of thousands if not millions would be dead had this been committed.
