Inevitable with that spend and another £500m next summer.

No team in history spends that money and doesn’t win the vast majority of games. PSG, Real, Citeh.

But the key question is will Potter be trusted by Boehly to land Champions League and EPL titles? What’s his unique attribute that makes him the equal of Ten Hag and Guardiola?

The thing is if they were always going to spend the money they have they didn't need to gamble on Potter. Tuchel would have been a safer bet.

Surely potters skill set is working with second tier players and greeting them playing at a higher level. More a kind of spurs project.

It could all work out for him and he may crack it and get them playing brilliant football at the highest level, but . . . There always seems the potential for impotency up front. Surely this isn't an option for a team with top level aspirations.

I shouldn't but...
Regardless of our striker situation, we are never going to score goals with this guy at the helm. It’s the same for everywhere he has managed. He might be a nice guy, but he is nowhere near Chelsea level for being our head coach and never will be

Boehly doesn’t like someone with an outspoken opinion, Tuchel.

Boehly’s patently changed tack in just weeks and months. Hoping for a blend of proven signings, their vast youth system and Albion-esque signings using Winstanley/Macauley (inevitably pinching scouts and networks).

But as match-weeks come and go with draws and losses, Boehly’s gone nuclear with world record breaking cheating. Desperate for CL football 2023/24.

What I read when he took over suggested a coherent plan of how to take Chelsea forward. The first few moves seemed to follow that plan.

And then. . .

Chelsea debutant Noni Madueke to Sky Sports: "Obviously we’re disappointed we didn’t win the game. There were positives to take."
Did Graham write that down for him to say.

It is what it is. 🤣

Chelsea boss Graham Potter to BBC Sport: "There was a lot of excitement and positivity from the start, a good atmosphere. The spirit of the players was really good. They worked hard for each other against an organised team.

"They've been together a while. We’re a different stage of that – players coming back from injury and new players. We needed time to settle everything down. We were missing the connection, fluidity and confidence that comes from knowing each other.

"The decision we took in the window you can see the profile in terms of age. We feel we have a very strong group of players. We have to gel and become a really good team. That’s where the work is.

"It’s working together. When players have been injured they have not been on the training pitch. We have new players with us. It's about getting ideas across and woring with the group.

"Sometimes you have to look at the whole package. Young players, nice mix of them both. For us it’s about improving and

"New players are adapting to a new country and a new league. It’s not straightforward. When the price tag is what it is questions will be asked, it's the nature of the business."

Nothing unique at all.
