Imagine if we actually had a sold out, roaring, aggressive, drunken Amex for this 8pm kick off. With a big Chelsea following making for a raucous FA Cup tie. We might actually win, and there is an argument to say it is our biggest game of the season, as we aren’t going to be winning anything else this year.

We just don’t seem to have the fanbase for it though.
Nice to know the success of a team is attributed to their fan base. By that reckoning Leeds would be Champions of Europe for every one of the last 30 seasons. Sheffield Wednesday would be in the top 6 in the PL as examples.

So little ol’ Brighton which has a maximum take up on season tickets, a 99% attendance against ground capacity, a sold out allocation for every away fixture this season, 5,000 or fans without tickets in Amsterdam willing their team on against Ajax last season is all an illusion? Of course, we don’t have the fan base for it.

Well clearly we don’t, or we wouldn’t be having to give Chelsea 6,000 tickets. Would we?

And I’m pretty sure 80% of clubs in the country who have never played in Europe before would take 5,000 to Ajax. Non league teams magically rack up 5,000 away followings in the 3rd round of the cup away at a big club.

Okay, so we don’t have a fan base. Your interpretation totally differs from mine let’s leave it at that.

Well perhaps you should rethink your interpretation based on what I actually said, rather than completely misquoting me. It might help with your conclusion.

Imagine if there was a remote chance of anyone staying for ET and penalties getting home by train after the game :lolol: .........................we'd have sold this out with a 3pm KO. It's very frustrating, we'll look more tinpot than Reading.

Indeed. I live in London and have bought a ticket but will have to leave if it goes into extra time. So there's a reasonable chance I won't see the conclusion of the game.

Oh bugger! Potentially the only joy of the upcoming Chelsea games would have been the chance to boo stroppy Sanchez and await the error. Sadly looks like Chelsea manager has dropped him for the game against Wet Sham.

Suggestions please for a witty chant when we spy him on the bench!

A week after we’ve just been dicked 7-0 probably isn’t the optimum time to goad ex-players

But (Forest aside) some of our best performances have come away from home. So, maybe the idea is to make it feel like an away game to spur the team on?

neither will 6000 Chelsea fans ???
A lot of them will probably be under the impression that they can leave and get straight on a train to Brighton.

Next time I hear about devaluation of the Cup we can at least include our own fans
Harsh, but maybe fair. And also no different to every club these days. Besides, the fault lies with the games administrators and their addiction to television money. And aren’t we all supposed to watch it on TV anyway, as per their wishes?

Sod that I’ve moved from ESU to ESL so i can be nearer the hairy one to give him some verbals
I am going to have the whole of ESU to myself at this rate. At least there won't be any queue for the Harveys.

I wonder how many Chelsea fans will be on the 04:24 🤣
