[Albion] Chelsea 6k allocation

We have always had low demand for cup games.
Unless its Liverpool or Arsenal or Palace.

The reason Chelsea can sell 6K tickets is because they have more supporters than Brighton, having won multiple league titles and cups, even becoming champions of Europe. Twice I think (can't remember - don't like them).
We have won the sum total of f*** all and therefore don't have the 'reach' of 'your Chelseas, Manchester Uniteds and Liverpools'.

Later today I will be explaining why I struggle to get a suntan in Kent in February, and why England cannot tell the EU what to do.

Its all a bit pathetic isn't it. Make the away fans feel as comfy as possible and then we might win a best stadium award! No other clubs makes away fans feel as comfy as we do, it gives an advantage, but tbf, our team on the pitch seems to be giving the opposition an advantage at the moment.
I admit I don't go to many away games anymore.
But I used to be a 10 away a season man back when we were shit.
I can tell you that nothing got me more shouty and partizan than a cold terrace, stinking khazi and shit 'hot' dogs.
Give me a comfy seat and a nice beer in an away stadium, such as at Wet Sham the other week (I was there), all's different.
I'm very polite.
Nice even.
A smattering of applause and a quick burst of GOSBTS and then I'll quietly watch the game with the occasional 'hurrah! and some tutting.
That's it

The biggest concern for disorder will be focused on Falmer station after the game when frustrations are highly likely to boil over due to the anticipated long wait and overcrowding.

It won't be disorder between rival fans, but between Chelsea fans and security/railway staff. Unfortunately Chelsea fans will be expecting to get away within 30 minutes of the game and will likely start showing their frustration when they have been standing in the cold and going nowhere after an hour.
If Chelsea do have 6000 fans coming to The Amex, largely using public transport, they are in for a nasty shock.

If there is one thing that Sussex Police can do to mitigate this it will be having some advanced planning meetings with Southern Rail.
Somehow the authorities need to rustle up some extra train capacity and relieve this pressure point as soon as possible.
As Jack Albion regularly tells us, it won't be easy.

At least due to the expected low turn out from Brighton fans there will be less home supporters adding to the squeeze.
I hope I'm wrong, but we all know that unless you leave the ground for the station before the final whistle, you'll be in for a long and very frustrating wait.

We do have extra capacity to be fair, but its still not going to be easy.

The Albion 12,000 will long be at home or almost there.

Looks like I’ll be sitting on my own then. :tantrum:
We had more fans than them that night, but they had the better night.

Chelsea plastics will enjoy their day out. I'm sure we'll roll out the red (blue) carpet and give them a lovely welcome, serve them their favourite beers and food and gift them a 'bye' onto the next round while thanking them for their support.

Brighton & Hove Albion charity style.
We didn’t win the 1910 FA Charity Shield for nothing you know. I mean it was held at Stamford Bridge so we owe them a bit of tea and cake as a thank you.

I bought a ticket and parking but I am not sure I want to go now. It's still going to cost a lot in petrol. 6000 Chelsea chavs being there is not helping my mood.

Blimey, if you want doom and gloom you should have been at the City Ground at around 2.30 on Saturday. Also, referring to your post would it be any different to any other club visiting the Amex. I was at the Chelsea game back in August 83 and the Spurs game in 1978. Yes, everything that went on was awful, but really we’ve moved on from there. As at any match these days you will get some fans being complete knobheads - the vast majority of fans will travel to the game, watch the game and travel back from the game without incident. It’s hardly Armageddon.
I was at both games too. Let’s hope you are right.

Imagine if we actually had a sold out, roaring, aggressive, drunken Amex for this 8pm kick off. With a big Chelsea following making for a raucous FA Cup tie. We might actually win, and there is an argument to say it is our biggest game of the season, as we aren’t going to be winning anything else this year.

We just don’t seem to have the fanbase for it though.

How many did we sell for Palace at home in the cup under Hughton? That was a Monday night

Funny how the 6,000 Chelsea coming are ‘plastics’ yet our own hard core non-plastic support can’t be arsed to turn up.

About 14,00 or something I seem to remember. Equally pathetic.
