[Football] Cheating - pretending to be injured to disrupt the opposition

Any ideas how this can be fixed?

Maybe they could just introduce the same rule as rugby where an injured player gets treated whilst the game continues? Or straight off on a stretcher?

Might have its downsides but sure as hell would stop cheats like Robinson getting away with altering the course of the match.

Maybe our boys could stop diving and going down so easily too?

March, Estupinan, Mitoma, Caicedo and Mac Allister all guilty of it today.
The difference is the ref didn’t stop play for them.

Newmarket.
I'd just like every player to stop the fakery but it ain't going to happen.
Nothing can be done about it.

It’s the players who need to stop it though. No point in blaming the refs, they can’t tell when it’s genuine or not and especially with the head injuries, they can’t insist they go off because you can’t move them,

Maybe if a player has a head knock then they have to go off for 5 mins to be assessed for concussion (once standing again). Forcing teams to play for 5 mins or so with 10 men might help a bit.

Exactly …plus I don’t recall Match going down and feigning injury …nearly had his legs decapitated though… or the trainer on for any …
He showed the linesman his injury & questioned why he didn’t alert the ref.

Robinson was a disgrace. Goes down face contorted 'in pain' doing the whole pounding the ground with his fist thing intended to convey extreme agony. You'd swear his ankle was shattered in three places. About ninety seconds later he's galloping full pelt down the wing. And they must be the unluckiest team in the league for 'head injuries' eh?
