I like that plan.

I go to another massage board that uses vbulletin, and there no matter what name you choose, when someone quotes you, the quote shows up under the name you registered under, so you can always be recognised.

Would bloody love a message right now. Thanks for reminding me.

Sounds like a great idea, especially the limit on how many times it can be done. I for one think maybe once a season to enable new player names to be incorported

More like every 6 years. Getting it wrong once is acceptable. Twice, foolish....

Not really, might have a better idea or something may happen involving the club that you would like to change it to, who cares if somebody wants to change their name.

Last night, I came within a whisker of installing a bolt-on that would enable users to change their own username if they wished.

Currently they need to get in touch with one of the powers-that-be and it is, if I'm honest, a pain in the arse.

Things to note:

- We can configure it so that a user can only change their username once every X days, where X can be whatever we like. So, for example, we could set it so that you can only change your username once a quarter.

- Every user will have a 'username history' in their profile so others can view what others names they were known by and when.

However, I like to pretend that you, the users, have a say in this so I'll ask what you think - should I add it to the site?
Stop pretending then and let us edit our own profiles and add it to the site
