HB&B is correct. Brighton is a town, not a city. People may be confusing it with Brighton & Hove.

You can qualify it all you like, saying "it's only a number plate". I expect you all said something similar when Archer and his cronies sold my towns football ground, because they wanted the money.
All this was helped by the fact that most boys my age had their dads copy of the AA book and in the back was all these CD, UF, AP prefixes and where they were from. When we went away on holiday in the 1960's or for a long drive you would look up number plates to see where the people were from. Helped to while away the hours. I know plenty of my old school mates did the same. Did anyone else on here do that?
