Six moments that, in another match, could have lost us the match. I didn't say we lost all of those six games in question, but next season when (hopefully) we're challenging at the top you can't afford a keeper to drop a howler 6 times in 20 games.

I love Kuipers, he's myfavourite ever Albion player, with OGH a close second, but even i can appreciate that Brezovan is the new number one. He's solid, okay so 4 games (because Leeds doesn't count and Charlton was so close to the end it didn't matter) where he made a mistake.

Count how many wins, and how many goals hes let in and compare to Kuipers. Brez is a better keeper.

I think I remember seeing Brezovan has kept 11 clean sheets in 19/20 games. Sorry but that is an UNDENIABLE statistic. Big Brez has done well, you know it as well as I do TCB. Class keeper and I hope we keep him as he has something we have been lacking for a long time, COMMANDMENT of his area.

Now, lets dig out FDM's clean sheet o'meter....

If we keep up a similar ratio of games-to-cleansheets that we've achieved with Brez between the sticks, that lays down a GREAT defensive basis on which to push for promotion. It'd be down to the players up the other end to produce the goods.

I'm not saying he should be our certain number one keeper next season, but you can't blame people for having confidence in him when you look at the overall impact he's had on our defence and overall goals conceded.

For the first time ever I can say this is NOTHING to do with Kuipers. I genuinely think Brezovan is a calamity waiting to happen. I have rarely felt as unsafe with a keeper in goal for us as I do with him. He's in the Mark Walton/Wayne Henderson bracket as far as I'm concerned. As I said, people are blinded by his ability to come and catch crosses. People like that because they think it means he's dominant and confident. He's not. When it comes off it's about his only strength, but it will also cost us goals - see Carlisle.

Goalkeeper in my opinion is the most important position on the pitch, and we will not threaten promotion next season if Brezovan is number one.

The statistics mean nothing, because they could have been even better had someone better been in goal. Just as in the first half of the season when Kuipers was playing behind a MESS they could have been even worse. We'll never know. But just because results picked up it shouldn't mean everyone's place is safe.

No, Calderon and Painter has a massive impact on our defence. The clean sheet record is down to the defence. How many match-winning saves can you remember Brezovan making? The ones Michel used to make almost every other week. I'm struggling to think of any. That's because the defence was SO good in the last third of the season. If we want to finish in the top half next season then Brezovan behind that defence will be ok. If we want to get promoted next season you can only afford for your keeper to cost you a couple of matches all year. Brezovan will definitely cost us more.

And El-Abd. But mentioning him would prove you to know nothing, once again.

Badger I remember Brezovan coming out and catching 99% of the crosses that are put into the box. You are a twat...by the way..

Oldham & Exeter away, off the top of my head. Admittedly he saved a penalty he gave away in the first place, but he also stopped a vital one-on-one in that game, which we went onto to win 1-0. Oldham again he saved a penalty and made a superb double save in the first half. Again, without those two (or three) stops, we wouldn't have won the game.

Add to that his dominance from crosses and great use of height, which in itself will have given more confidence and solidity to the back-four, to perform as well as they have done. Therefore I'd say he HAS has an impact.

That was in 2001 and 2004 we are now wanting a goalkeeper who can perform at the level required for 2010/11 and Brezovan fits that bill according to Gus and his staff.

Brezovan is as good if not better than Kuipers was and is much more reliable with his command of the box and dealing with crosses and possibly equal on shot stopping. Not as good perhaps as Roberts but then he was by far the best keeper BHA have had for some years.

Badger do you deliberately go against what everyone else thinks to be controversial or what?

Towards the end of the season he did command the area well but not as well at the start. There is the Wycombe drop and there was a calamity at Charlton which went unpunished. I remember a few times when he did stay on his line rather than come for balls which had the keepers name all over them, this may be due to his concern over a fragile defence in front of him however. I just think 99% of crosses caught coming into the box.....no way, a better keeper then FDM yes.
