Quite!! Can't believe I'm taking stick for talking about FOOTBALL from a tedious bore who sends nsc to sleep with tales of his no doubt gormless children! "Ooh I wonder where he is tonight." "Tedious son number 2 is looking for a job" blah blah blah.

If he is successful in gaining a contract lets hope we dont give Tonbridge Angels a £55k present.

You know exactly why you are taking stick. Most of the time it is completely impossible to have any kind of sensible football discussion on here with you, because everything is really really shit, unless it's about FDM in which case he is f***ing superman. It's really quite tedious.

Just as a point of interest, who was the last local non league striker who got a trial at the Albion and turned out to be better than .. um er well.. a non league striker?

( Gary Hart was not a LOCAL non league striker and that was 12 years ago anyway)

No excuses this time, no coming back with a half hearted apology, trying to explain you were just making a point. Just go away and don't bother coming back, you've hit a new low with that one.

Sounds like he is worth a look and I like home grown talent.

Just so you two are aware and I'm not dreaming this, we're talking about a player from TONBRIDGE ANGELS. This is Tonbridge Angels of the Isthmian League. To give you some idea of the standard, that's the level HASTINGS, HORSHAM, and BOGNOR play at. Are you seriously trying to say that taking a player from that level should be greeted with positivity, congratulations and new-found optimism?

On the flip side, why should it be the end of the world? We haven't given him a lucrative contract. In fact, we have only given him a trial and it is not as if we are putting him up in a five star hotel. He is probably driving down from his current abode and we are paying him for petrol and loss of earnings. Hardly going to put the club at risk and he might come up to the required standard and offer us something different.

On a lighter note, I thought I might Carrion with alternatives to the boy Rook. Maybe Big Russ could have a look at Danny Crow - who now appears to be attempting to resurrect his career at Cambridge United. Prior to this dream move, he was on Posh's books until he became surplus to requirements & got loaned out to Notts County. Unfortunately the guy soon fractured a metatarsal, but at least he provided a (minor) headline that headline writers could only dream of:-

Crow breaks foot in Magpies loss :clap2:

We've got five strikers already - and five pretty good strikers at that. I'll bet my bollocks that someone from the Isthmian League is not going to improve on the overall standard of our attacking options.

Maybe Murray is leaving? Are we planning for potential injuries? Should we turn down a potential 'star' because we have enough players in that position? Will he command a large wage? Will he be good enough? Have we signed him yet?

I don't think there is any point getting worked up over a trialist that has not even played for us yet.

One thing that is certain is that we should never rest on our laurels when it comes to sourcing local talent.

Whats the harm in looking at him.

Jesus Christ! Its a bloody trial for God's sake! Its not costing the club much (if any) money. What's the harm in taking a look at the lad? It's not as if we've offered him a 20 grand a week contract is it??

Doug Loft came from Hastings, and look at the times he brought to the club!!
Seriously though, no harm in giving him a trial to see what he can dol.
