Last i heard about gary stevens he was tryin to buy Tunbridge Wells F.C. cause i was in the youth team at Tunbridge Wells. he used to do training and come to our games top bloke always spoke to him

Quite! If he is deemed to have enough potential, then why not give him a deal for a year or two. Professional coaching might be the making of him. I daresay £400 a week or whatever would be offered is going to de-rail our ambtions.

So, we've given a trialist a run out, he wasn't that good and we'll probably say "Thanks, but no thanks". No harm done.

At least they're looking locally which is good.

You are neglecting to mention that we sold Hammond, Virgo and Harding for approx. £2.25m.

It is a risk game, but one I would be willing to take and hope that we keep our youth setup. As the club grows and income expands, then we are likely to be able to attract a greater amount of decent youngsters to the club. Why not keep it ticking over until we are, a relatively, more attractive proposition to potential suitors. Remember the days when Archer et al ignored the youth setup? We had to make do with the Fox brothers and Simon Funnell.
