Can we have a new forum please ?

I think NSC has careered downhill over the past 6 months. There's a weekly racist thread on immigrants, a weekly "dwayne is a :censored: " thread, and then a lot of utter rubbish around it. Setting up a separate forum won't stop it unfortunately - I don't see an answer

*waving walking stick* Ban them all! Ban therm all! Send them into the trenches, then they'll see what a real messageboard is like. I remember when .... *snores*

I don't mind utter tosh. I don't even mind fiery arguments - such as when Gareth Glover was defending Peter Taylor's record and everyone waded in - because it's not personal.

But a lot of what we saw yesterday was either obscene, bigotted or personal abuse of people who don't come on NSC as some kind of ego-trip, but in order to have a chat about the Albion and other stuff. IT ISN'T BIG, IT ISN'T CLEVER AND NO-ONE'S LAUGHING.

We don't need seperate forums, just a plea to try and keep this board a good place to visit for all kinds of people, with occasional raps on the knuckles by moderators for people who can't play nicely.

Still a new day. Let's see what it brings....

I think you're all looking at this from the wrong angle. We don't need separate forums for different topics but for different posters.

Bring back the Big Brother forum, NSC was brilliant while that was in effect.

Cheers. :glare: :(

Cricket forum would actually be a bad idea right now as theres only 2 weeks left of cricket until the Winter tour for England.

As for people moaning about threads, just dont read them it aint that hard!
If you dont like NSC full stop then why are you still here?
Mary Whitehouse anyone?
Its like radio...If I hear Coldplay i turn it off, I dont moan about it then post random rants! If its getting too racist (hav'nt seen it myself) or too personal then go to another BHA fan forum, theres a few of them out there.

If people are way out of line with racist/sexist abuse or have upset someone then ban 'em/sin bin 'em yellow or red card 'em. They will either learn or get bord and bugger off completley.

If the Big Board was cluttered with Cricket stuff I could see an argument for a Cricket forum. There isn't enough threads to make it worthwhile imo though.

I was one who waded in. It was a great thread. Gareth and I had different view points, but I wasn't insulted and neither (I hope) was he. Just grown up conversation. Although he does make a very good argument, I still stand by my point of thinking Peter Taylor is a :censored:

Indeed, maybe people should use this more often and if one person posts racist/sexist abuse or whatever then after awhile their tally would add up and they could be banned for it.

yeah ture, we've been adding Sussex & England scores in one thread and its been great. People who dont like cricket know not to read it so I dont know why they moan about it, petty I say!

Trouble is with internet forums/chat rooms/whatever is its hard to display your emotions, example:

"I hate you"

You would see that as harsh and would'nt like it:

"I hate you ;) "

You would see the wink smiley and see I'm only joking, if people dont use smileys or ways of showing their emotions in their posts then it makes them look worse than they actually are, and not everyone uses them so you dont know how to react to a phrase/sentance they just typed. Its not like in real conversation where you can tell easily if someones joking or mucking about or being serious...on the 'net its bloody hard!

Sounds like it's time to be a little bit more forceful with people who take it too far.

Watch your backs.

What a bunch of f***ing hypocrites.

I would bet good money that most of the people whinging on this thread have contributed to at least one 'pointless' thread in the last week.

People are moaning that there's been an influx of these sort of subjects lately but don't forget the more established ones:

'The Person Above You Thread'
'Thread Full of Beautiful Ladies'
'Thread Full of Useless Facts'
'What Are You Listening To?'
The lastest 'wacky' item on Ebay

In fact two off the worst offenders are bloody mods on this site. What sort of an example does that set?

I find the fact that some people have suddenly 'had enough' off all the off-topics despite contributing to them for months quite honestly laughable.

Regarding yesterday, apologies if I genuinely offended anyone (not people who just felt like they had to say something), but if anyone actually believes that I am racist then they are even more soppy than I first thought. My ex IS Asian and I went out with her for three years. Hardly the actions of a Hitler wannabe.

I could go on at length about this because it is so f***ed up but I won't because A) It'll only be greeted with derision and B) I don't really feel like explaining myself to an internet message board today.

I think the problem some of the people 'in power' have got is that they are quite happy to post their own off-topic stuff, yet when something else goes up that they personally are not interested in then they lock and come out with the old 'not in the board's interest' gobshite. It's bollocks. A phrase beginning 'Too many chiefs' springs to mind.

As such I won't be posting on here for a while. I know most of you won't give a shit, some of you will probably welcome it. I don't care.

NSC is as f***ed as it has been for a long time and I want no part of it.

Hello darlings

I would like to see a music forum. I've read some excellent opinions on here, even when it's people with a totally different perspective it's all good (eg Dave with his classical stuff and Britbyte expressing his love for the Red Hot Boring Tossers.)

Then again maybe if you did that people would stop talking about it.

xx
