Hitony, I don't know what you've been playing at, but if you do this trip once a week and had sensibly utilised the Bracknell cut-off then over the past 25 years you'd have saved yourself 1,300 wasted hours and thousands of pounds in petrol, not to mention the impact on the ozone layer and time you could have otherwise spent with loved ones...anyway, here's hoping for 3 points against the Pirates!

Got to be honest, I don't recall saying i did the trip once a week, as i don't, as stated I have tried every way possible over the years and that does include the Bracknell route, in fact i have probably used that route many times due to the fact my brother lives in Bracnelland also has a pub in Ascot, and we have met up many times over the years and gone back to Brighton as we both used to live there for many years, hence forcing me/ us to use that particular route.

Maybe it is the time of day that I have used that route, and have just been unlucky ? but i have always come across very heavy traffic and long delays.

Apart from one extremely bad experience, which was on a friday afternoon, and a lorry was on fire on the M25 (journey did take 7 hours!) I have always done the best travelling times by using the M4, M25 and M23, (probably in my post i should have added, In my opinion / experience)

So i am not to sure i have actually wasted nearly 8 weeks of my life :lolol: the thousands of pounds worth of petrol, well a vast majority of all the fuel costs would have been paid for by my previous comapany :yahoo: I will take sole responsibility for the condition of the ozone layer and as such will await arrest by the green police ....spending time with loved ones ? well maybe thats why i was in Brighton in the first place

But I am with you 100% on the 3 points today against the Pirates  if your there today have a great day

Hitony, I was only joking but it made me laugh thinking there's probably someone out there who's been doing a journey for 25 years that probably IS half an hour longer than necessary.

I can confirm, I have done the South Wales to Brighton trip, and return of course for the last 25 years, and having tried EVERY way humanly possible, the only way to do it is, the M4, M25, M23.

I have not read every post, so I am not aware of everyones thoughts on this.

I've been travelling back and for to Brighton from South Wales for about the same period of time and have nearly always gone M4 to Newbury, A34/M3 to Southampton, then M27/A27. If I'm not in a hurry then A36 is an option, only use M25 in the early hours of the morning.

Hows the bus?

Probably shunted you from behind seeing as you like it up the backside so much.
