Ah I think you're further than me, I gotta wait for the littlens to go to bed before I can get my teeth into it, Definatly try & find a shield though.... I noticed a few body's I looted had them

I've never considered looting a corpse:facepalm: shows how one dimensional my thinking is when it comes to games. Am gonna go back and find 1 I think, batteries have died in the controller so will start again tomorrow.

I got skyrim today, spent 3 hours on it today and it seems like a massive game, soooo much to do in it, I'm trying to get the hang of combat, I only have a sword so far and keep missing when I swing at people and end up getting killed:facepalm:

Im also struggling to find where I'm supposed to be going, don't get the compass up the top fully yet.

This 4 axis walking/looking where you going is tricky for me, that's hard enough to co-ordinate yet along trying to draw the sword and swing at someone, I need more fingers and keep hitting the menu button in a panic by accident.:tantrum::annoyed:

Gonna take me a long time to get used to the modern complexities of gaming nowadays...

In the game settings you can lower the difficulty level until you get the hang of things! If you do get into the game then you can spends weeks and months on it so easily

Got the sword, must've missed the shield:eek:

I've followed that bloke to a village, met some other bloke, gone to have a chat with a "jarl" and am currently lost trying to get somewhere to do the next bit, I broke my last lock pick trying to escape from jail too, (i was only in jail cos I tried to pick pocket what turned out to be a guard at whiterun)

There seems to be hundreds of quests to complete, I fear I may lose the next few days, possibly weeks playing this...most important at the minute is get better at fighting and blocking..

You can actually make your own weapons and armour at the smiths if you have the right items. Hide armour is the easiest to make as it only requires leather, which you can pick up by killing wildlife. I would also recommend getting a longbow if you have not got one already as having a ranged weapon helps a lot when walking around the map.

The great thing about Skyrim is you can go and do what you want, I spent ages just wandering the map exploring and earning gold by doing jobs like chopping wood. Looting is good early on as you can pick up better weapons and potions and gold. Take everything of worth as you can sell it on for gold. You can favourite items in the menu for easy access with the D-pad, so you can switch quickly when you need to. Enjoy.

Spent a couple of hours on it today, managed to get myself a shield and some heavy armour to help with the fighting, I'm on a mission to go to get a dragonstone from a temple and take it back to whiterun, I've got to the temple but I can't find the stone:down:

Anyone know where it is???

I restarted the quest from a save point as I was lost but this time when I left the jarl I got chased by some bandits!!! Didn't have that first time round......when I do find this stone I have to get back into whiterun without getting killed somehow.....

I am guessing that you are at Bleak Falls Barrow, you need to free the thief and get the golden claw which opens a door after you put in the code.

There is a source guide here http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Bleak_Falls_Barrow_(Quest)

if you need it that is

Ok, had a quick read of that walk-through, will have a go tomorrow, that's quite deep considering its that early into the game isn't it?? Hope I'm well enough equipped for it.:)
