Definitely give Mass Effect 1 and 2 a go. Epic games and I can't wait until the third one.

As for PS3 vs 360, I can see the merits of both but I bloody love my PS3. For me the exclusive titles are considerably stronger (sod your Halo and GoWs, give me the likes of Uncharted and Infamous anyday), blu-ray is a bonus and I've not had any problems with online. Also, I use lovefilm which means I can stream their catalogue straight through the PS3 which is nice

Skyrim... £10? Its only been out for 12 days. Mass effect is a good shout though, you should be able to download ME1, possibly ME2 as well via Xbox live Games on Demand, so no need to go for a wander. Both very good. I'd recommend them, especially as ME3 is due out in March.

Never actually said Skyrim was a £10, Bioshock and ME2 yes. I actually got Skyrim for £4.99 by trading in Gotham City. Looking forward to ME3.

Just a further point to reinforce getting Mass Effect 2 (and the first one while you're at it).

I don't tend to replay singleplayer games once they're finished. When I've completed it I might as well trade it in and get something else. The moment I finished ME2 I started a new game and played through it again, it's that good

Go get yourself Fallout 3 GOTY edition. One of the best games I have ever played. Takes a while to get into but the time invested is well spent. The music, atmosphere, freedom to roam, number of quests is just staggering. Will keep you busy for a while :)

If it hasn't been said already get yourself down to a second hand game shop or get on ebay. Great time killers are stategy games (in general). All of the Assassins creed editions are involving and fun. GTA 4, Fallout 3 are classics. Skyrim looks incredible but not played it yet. COD and Fifa both top games but the format can get a bit repetitive.

Battlefield 3 oh & if you're into online gaming with ya friends stick to xbox not ps3 as it's much more sociable what with party chat & everything.... As for the exclusives uncharted is good but infamous is NO way better than gears or halo.
If ya fancy a decent blu ray player then ps3 is great but xbox is a far better gaming machine & FIFA 12 is a must on either machine

Yeah battlefield is amazing, picked up skyrim today, I don't really play RPG's but I thought it's gotta be worth a try seeing as it gets such high ratings

I got skyrim today, spent 3 hours on it today and it seems like a massive game, soooo much to do in it, I'm trying to get the hang of combat, I only have a sword so far and keep missing when I swing at people and end up getting killed:facepalm:

Im also struggling to find where I'm supposed to be going, don't get the compass up the top fully yet.

This 4 axis walking/looking where you going is tricky for me, that's hard enough to co-ordinate yet along trying to draw the sword and swing at someone, I need more fingers and keep hitting the menu button in a panic by accident.:tantrum::annoyed:

Gonna take me a long time to get used to the modern complexities of gaming nowadays...

Yeah it's a bit daunting ain't it, especially to an RPG novice like myself, I only tried it quick until the kids got in so I just got out of them caves/tunnels & into skyrim (I think) lol.
Didn't you pick up that massive long sword or the shield ?

Got the sword, must've missed the shield:eek:

I've followed that bloke to a village, met some other bloke, gone to have a chat with a "jarl" and am currently lost trying to get somewhere to do the next bit, I broke my last lock pick trying to escape from jail too, (i was only in jail cos I tried to pick pocket what turned out to be a guard at whiterun)

There seems to be hundreds of quests to complete, I fear I may lose the next few days, possibly weeks playing this...most important at the minute is get better at fighting and blocking..

Hi all,

I have an xbox 360 that has been sitting dormant for nearly a year now, and as I've just ripped some tendons in my foot I'm stranded on the sofa for a few days if not weeks.

I'm 2 hours into sitting and I'm already bored and was thinking about firing up the xbox and buying some new games to pass the time.

Here is the problem, I haven't been a regular gamer for years and the choice of games is staggering:eek:

I used to have a ps2 years ago in my late teens but then started working and discovered beer, clubs and girls, and left gaming to the kids..... I'm now 33 and haven't played for years, the missus bought me the xbox for Xmas a few years ago but it hasn't really been touched (apart from lego Batman)

I've usually played simulation games such as forza motorsport, project gotham racing, tiger woods golf etc etc but am thinking about changing into others

Cod mw3 everyone is raving about, is it easy to play? I fear the controls are complicated and will take so long to master ill get pissed off before I really start it..

Or are other games such as fable 2 or skyrim worth a shot? They seem quite appealing to me...??????

Just after some suggestions really, I feel like I'm gonna go stir crazy just watching tv but don't want to waste 40 quid on a game that'll just piss me off after an hour.....

Get Battlefield 3 its brilliant, bigger maps than COD and much better mulyiplayer as more of a team game.

I've never considered looting a corpse:facepalm: shows how one dimensional my thinking is when it comes to games. Am gonna go back and find 1 I think, batteries have died in the controller so will start again tomorrow.
