Pah Oakmeeds nothinged (not even sure that is a word) Downlands, it was all about Warden Park and some nastyness with St Pauls

I remember having a couple of big rows with St pauls kids in my oakmeeds days. We also got the train to hassocks for a row with downlands once but nothing much happened

Not a bad choice, nice and central. My mate's just moved into a place on station road, much better than any of the new estates in burgess. Close to the potters as well which is a decent pub now

Looking forward to sampling the local hostilaries in the coming months and the many eateries on my new door step, fed up with cafe culture, give me Kebab Kulture any day of the week:laugh:

If you can manage a walk down junction road into 'Worlds end' ..the watermill is worth a visit. One of the very few pubs to serve real ale and is kept well too. Also has guests beers too

Tim ley for chinese and fish N chips for me....Asian rose for the curry.

Enjoy

It's a nice pub, the Watermill with real ale from the Isle Of Wight but they used to have a dog in there that pissed on the carpet and it would stink. A change of landlord has smartened the place up a bit.

Tim Ley's fish & chips were disappointing when I went there. Jupps is a great plaice but Mr Chippy in the Broadway, Haywards Heath is quite simply the best.

Watermill's a good pub for a beer, as is the Weald (best kept bitter in B.H imo).
In terms of a good chippy... you just can't beat the one in Worlds End!

Tim Ley is does better fish & chips and chinese than both of those. Last time I used Jupps in about 1997 I was bitterly disappointed given it's reputation and the awards it had.

Spot on. Tim Ley do great portion sizes and it's lovely. Friends and family that we have over when we have a chinese are always impressed.

Again, for Jupps, I don't understand why they win awards, the chips are rank and the fish is never anything special. Tim Ley chips are lovely.
Personally, I think the best fish/batter available used to be from the chippy that was on london road, the one run by the cypriot man, he had a TV showing foreign channels.
