It's the norm and some people have no idea about funding etc

No reason to be concerned at all, I ain't and i am a real sceptic when it comes to stuff like this (especially after Wembley) But even though i don't know as much as some people on here i am still confident the team will deliver the stadium on time:thumbsup:

Is it still right the club are moving their offices down there for the start of the new season, would be a boost for all us sceptical fans:thumbsup:

I think the club would be wise to give an update on progress since the forum at Hove Town hall earlier this year. Work is happening on the land adjacent to the site. As you drive down the A27 you can see two cranes and lots of excavations on the University site. A photo or two to show the work happening may put a few minds at rest.

One for Ask The Club then?

The club offices are not moving there until the stadium is complete

The PROJECT office will move there as soon as work begins on the site

The work happening adjacent to the site is the new building going up to replace the 4 buildings that are being demolished on the piece of land the that the stadium will occupy.

Nothing will happen on our part of the site until after the end of the uni year and the 4 buildings have been demolished

One of the six planning applications is required for this. To answer your question on hear a few days ago, I think the others are:

1) Extension of stay at Withdean until 2011.
2) Widening of access road to University of Sussex.
3) Change of stadium use to include current City College proposals.
4) 'Tidying up variation' to incorporate changes in legislation, regulations etc since the initial application.
5) Removal of chalk spoil from excavation to nearby field(s).

As we both know, 1 & 2 are submitted and go before the BHCC planning sub-committee on 18th June; no sign of the others on either the BHCC or LDC websites last Friday.

I gather it's likely that only the application for the Withdean extension will go to the Planning Applications Committee in June. Expect the Access Road to Sussex University to go to the July meeting.

Cheers LB; I think S433 was advised June by the council planning dept when he rang them shortly after the decision date had passed for the Stanmer Park Road application. Btw, the BHCC website has yet to be updated - still says the expected decision date is 5th May.

I may well nip along and take some pictures in the week, but there won't really much to see until November.

Bloody long time starting thats for sure, while 99% of clubs would have built it by the time we have started???

Just typical and nothing more than i exspected as the albion take 12-18 months to do anything???

Absolute nonsense. If you only posted stuff that you know something about, I doubt we'd see you again.

Why do people on this site think they have a god given right to know everthing about the funding and construction. Yes, we are all keen to see some construction but this doesn't happen overnight. I'm no expert on raising £50m but I very much suspect that confidentiality is key to securing the whole deal with any of the banks/investors involved at least until contracts are signed. The club have already indicated the time frame including the tender documents, selecting contractor this summer. I would start to get worried if towards the end of the year no contractor is appointed but for christ's sake show a little patience!!! Afterall, it's not like we left the Goldstone yesterday!

at that meeting they said they were working with price waterhouse or whatver, I am a bit suprised we've heard no more but hopefully it's all under control.
Think due to the problems we've had , everyone probably is just paranoid something will go wrong

When i spoke to Kate in the planning dept she said the date was set for 16th or 18th June at Hove so i am gonna head on down there for it.

Not really, I believe in Derek Chapman's expertise more than yours.

But you have reminded me that I have a personal message for you from Derek Chapman. He's says you're 'not f***ing welcome at Falmer'. His words, not mine.

Message ends.

Derek Chapman has expertise coming out of everywhere, Iv'e Supplied materials into a lot of his recent jobs and been out to see them in person!!!

To all the doubters :salute: They have the knowledge and capacity to build the stadium on time and to the required standard.

This I KNOW for FACT
