Building Falmer

Give it rest would you. I've not once suggested that anything dodgy is going on. I've just pointed out that Martin Perry isn't the hero that some of you blinkered tosspots think he is.

Why be so cloak and danger about it. I thought the board were going to be honest about everything?

I must have misunderstood something then - sorry.

The permission required loads of preparatory reports and plans to be made and approved by the Council, down to level of approving a plan controlling the level of airborne particles that the construction work would produce, before any work can start on building. THIS TAKES TIME

Blinkered tosspot ??

How can you come on here and call people that when you don't even know them??

Because allot of people appear to be!!

Also it works both ways, when ever anyone mentions anything on this board that hasn't appeared in the Argus or the website people just dismiss it as bullshit. I've done nothing but state the truth with my opinions. Yet people still are calling me every name under the sun.

And when MP gets the stadium built on time the only person that will look like a tosspot is you quite frankly

I look forward to that day, sadly I don't think it will come in the next 5 years.

So despite the fact that you keep implying the club are covering something up, despite the fact that you have some sort of personal crusade against TLO and despite the fact that you seem to support a known ememy of the club you want people to .... "give it a rest" ! :thud:

How about trying to back your accusations up with real evidence ? Then maybe you'l deserve to be given a rest.

I still don't believe half of what is in the Arsegas as half of that has turned out just to be rumours!! People aren't hero worshipping him the just have faith in him and the rest of the team.

If you really want to have your mind put at rest why don't you email Martin Perry and ask if you can visit the Stadium project office at Withdean one day as i think you would be very pleasantly surprised with what is going on!!

As for 5 years i really do think it will happen by May 2010 with safety certificates done etc as seen bigger projects done in less time with worsw planning than the excellent team we have working for us!!

My understanding is that a business plan has been signed off by one of the big 5 firms of accountants. This business plan is being used to seek the finance from lenders. The proportion being requested as a loan is smaller then most of the lenders who came forward expected. I do not know any of the figures but do know that building on the stadium cannot start until the funding has been signed off by the council. They did not want to end up with a half built stadium that cant be used and money running out!

I imagine the club will have approached many different sources to gain as much funding as possible. I expect they have been knocked back by several, but if you dont ask you dont get.

Arthur, this is effectively what these arguments about Falmer boil down to...

We, the (generally) uninformed masses, have faith in those running the project. We have faith that the club, and the new company, have the competence to put the right people in place to manage the project, to deliver the project, and that these right people will be able to get the job done. The primary reason for this (well mine at least) is that I've seen nothing to the contrary. If these experts say it can be done, it will be done, then I believe them. Why shouldn't I?

You, it seems, have some vendetta against Martin Perry. You then refuse to believe every statement he, or anyone else associated with the project, make. You refuse to believe that there may be credible reasons for things happening, and you (seemingly) want to be kept informed of every single development. You have no faith in any of the team to get the project done.

Dear oh dear, you really are full of u-turns and rhetoric aren't you? Let's see oh highly informed one shall we?

Let's get one thing straight. You have given your opinions, that does not make it true.

And, even at this stage, there can be NO GUARANTEE that everything will go as smoothly as it should.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if there's a hiccup or two still to come.
