It is what it is.

We gave Potter a age to get it right. Surely FH deserves the same

Hold your nerve mate. Let's see if this is a new reality or a bad run of form, before we throw the baby out with the bath water.

Either way though, Potter's time with us is finished.
Fair enough. But I always saw what GP was trying to do even if it wasn’t working, sadly I don’t have a clue what FH is trying to do as there seems to be no structure to our play any more. We look shit in attack and defence and lose the midfield battle in every game. i worry that the players don’t understand how we are meant to play anymore.

He really isn’t….. no.
If a left winger is having no luck against his right back opponent , he might swap in the second half to see if he has more luck , currently our stubborn German hasn`t learnt that - and worse than that i think he still compares his time in Bundesliga 2 with the EPL .

Based on what?
I think he knows he’s in the toughest league in the world

Hope you’re not referencing Sanchez who was appalling on crosses…..Other teams also played on this weakness (see West Ham)
He was great on crosses, but if you go for every cross you miss once in a while and look like an idiot.

So people feel that a goalie who just stands on the line without making any brave/possibly erroneous decisions is better than someone who comes out and collects 9 out of 10 crosses and misses the 10th.

But hey ho, who needs a goalkeeper who collects and saves balls when you can have one who can do a rondo with Xavi. Unfortunate that we frequently go and concede 3-4 goals since swapping from the now title-chasing goalie we had to Verbruggen/Steele.

Result probably makes me bitter today but I'll take a bad Sanchez mistake every 10 games over a goalkeeper who can't firmly grip the loosest of shots and who doesn't dare have a presence in the penalty box.

Anyway, always going to be deaf ears when it comes to Robert, who was demonised by the previous manager, thus making him the Root of Evil in the eyes of the Zerbian cult members. He's a starter in a team that is much better than ours but people still pretend Jason Steele is a better keeper. Hilarious.

We put Robert on the bench after he made a mistake that only gave us 1-1 against Palace.
Today we conceded three goals against the same team, while Robert is chasing the title for Chelsea after we told him to f*** off. Funny world, I guess.

When we were winning, not sticking doggedly to a system or philosophy was seen as a positive. Now it doesn't.

To be honest I preferred DeZerbi's attack at all costs and bugger the consequences. We have Hurtz though and although his incisive attacking spurts seem to have dried up we need to give him time.

He does have a style of play, it's just not working at the moment. Same as Potters for a time and DeZerbi's at the end.

Completely disagree on Sanchez, it was his biggest weakness along with his footwork.
Makes a difference spending a billion on a team as well, I could make a comeback in front of the Chelsea team and look good.

Maybe but does he know how to beat lower teams , how to open up teams like the scum , we all know how you play City and Pool is not how you play lesser teams , yet he seems to have just one speed

He will be given time, however we as fans react. I stayed steadfastly behind Potter, I am nowhere near as confident in Fabian, others are, but we have no say, and I will not be booing however much worse it gets, and I feel it will get worse

That was an issue last season as well to be fair.
I don’t think Potter ever beat Palace?

Every single manager will have a trouble with this because we're a poor man's Manchester City and the best way of winning against that kind of team is to defend deep and cut off all spaces.

This has been the case basically since the game was invented. Possession based teams struggle with it because it works. And obviously it works more often against us than against Manchester City, because we're not as good at football.

Don't expect this to change soon.

Fair play too.

I think he will come good, I just think he needs to decide what we are and how we play and work on it.

I do suspect that it is no coincidence that our drop in form has coincided with Dunks return. Hurtz wants to play a high line and dunky is too old and slow to do it effectively (with Van hecke not exactly BILLY whizz either). So he is trying to find solutions in set ups to include Dunk and its not working.

Its a theory anyway.

We should have hired Potter first time round.

I do think Hurzeler is and will be a good manager, but we're too ambitious to develop a manager these days. We want immediate results. Hurzeler is probably one or more seasons away from being a decent manager at this level.

We have two clear options:

- Persevere with his development - let him learn from mistakes and potentially reap the rewards next season, or maybe even the season after. There is no guarantee that this will come to be true.

- Get rid of him, and take a gamble on a new manager. Again, there is no guarantee that this will work out.

Given that both options are full of risk, we should probably persevere for the time being. He had a great start to the season, and it's a shame that he's not yet 'the special one', but there's no guarantee the next manager would be either.

He needs to be better with the media, likeability is key in winning over fans. He needs to improve our defending and finishing in key moments in games.

He's doing a decent job, despite recent form. As I've seen in the past, his downfall could well be losing fans, who are notably fickle.

Maybe but we cant just rely on big D , the reason he is the boss is because he is supposed to be the guy with the answers when things get tough , today was not pretty watching and he wasn`t pro-active , a good manager sees the dangers and makes changes before the game is gone .

We were never this fragile in defence under Potter, he also had a very inferior squad to the one Fabian has
Are you joking ?

We had gross, bissouma, caicedo, macillister, trossard as our midfield, Cucurella as left back. First 11 levels above what we have now which outweighs the squad

Just one question , if you know that why doesn`t he ?
