You give young talented players to Potter and the majority end up being sold for big money a year or two later. Was the case in Östersund, Swansea and Brighton. Also not much internal conflict or media buzz, just safe and steady improvement day by day.

The club would absolutely want to have Potter, his stability, reliability and willingness to work under a model like ours.

But I don't think it will happen. They don't want to pick someone who would make the fans upset. Its better to go with the second best option.

100% this. Two years to turn round the style of play, followed by our first top ten finish and left de Zerbi with an open goal for 6th place and the Europa League, which, TBF, he grabbed with both hands.

Nevertheless, we're not looking for a new manager at the moment, so all that's irrelevant. I suspect (with no evidence at all, just a hunch) that TB and PB would probably be of the 'never go back' persuasion - but if at any time they did decide to go back to Potter, they could do a lot worse, and I for one certainly wouldn't be one of those ranting and railing against it.

Well, Dale Stephens has been quite outspoken in his admiration for Potter.

But yes, a Potter management isn't necessarily great if you're a 30+ has-been with questionable attitude. That may well be true.

I don't think Graham Potters lack of popularity in the Locadian househould is something obstructing his return to Brighton. If anything its a plus that he can see when a player is donezo.

Well, we had a goalkeeper who keep for all crosses and was the best in the league at collecting them. Unfortunately this meant that once or twice he came out wrong so we all started to hate him and brought in Jason Steele due to his great ability to do pointless oompa-loompa ball in his own penalty area.

Verbruggen better stay on the line and concede those headers if he doesn't want to be everyones hate object.
