Talking of bombing Brighton, my great-uncle, Reg Allam (who died six years ago) recalls how the Germans had a pop at Brighton on 25 May 1943. The house he describes (which is still there) was the family home. My then two-week old father was in the house at the time.
Bombing
Seeing as you seem to be the fount of all knowlege when it comes to Brighton have you ever seen the map which was published in 1945 or 46 in the then Brighton Gazette entitled "Where the Bombs fell in Brighton and Hove"?
I had a copy once but have lost it, I have tried the Library (unsuccessfully) It just seems like the sort of thing that you would have a copy of, or might know someone who has?
Bit cheeky I know, but thought I'd ask.
Portland street.
Regent Hill ?
Spring Gardens
Not a clue.
Of all people in this footy universe to ask, Tim Carder is your man. He wrote 'The Encyclopedia of Brighton' in 1990.
The road with the Fountain Head boozer on the corner?

I only got this as I know someone that lives on it.
Robert Street.
Tough one that, I wouldn't have ever known the name of that road unless I had a link to it.
