Brighton don't score goals
Brighton don't have forwards
it's all about Spurs
I don't care what they say on MOTD I'm going to enjoy it!
Thank you Brighton this is a fantastic weekend.

Fantastic win!. Really really deserved too. Real shame we didn't get more points from the previous 5 games but having said that we don't want any of the struggling top 6 sides to poach Potter! Staying under the raider also suits us for now

Oakland or L.A.?

Hughton must be sitting at home wondering which team we bought Connolly from...

And how do you know that Hughton would not have picked Connolly today if he was still manager of Brighton? - its not like Connolly hasn't developed as a player in the past few months (even in the past few weeks).

Incidentally - Connolly is the first Irish teenager to score two goals in a game in the top division since Robbie Keane when he was playing for Coventry. That wouldn't be a bad outlook for Connolly and Brighton if he could reach that standard.

A result like this has been coming all season.. we continue to make a million chances, today - we took them.

So pleased for Potter, he’s put a lot of faith into our playing style and has made two huge calls fast tracking the young lads Connolly and Alzate into the team. Today they repaid and then some!

I don’t like to say I told you so but I will....

Under our current regime we were a team in waiting.... we are not waiting now.

Performances are not about the opposition, they are about us. We deserved that from start to finish.

Another proud day for us and I will celebrate like we have turned a corner in our season today.

Guardian:

"88 min Steven Alzate, who has had a good game in midfield, is replaced by Gaetan Bong. Brighton have some really promising young players: Maupay, Trossard, Connolly, Alzate and Murray."

?!

Murray is young compared to me.

And how do you know that Hughton would not have picked Connolly today if he was still manager of Brighton?

Because of this...

We had John Morling the Albion Academy Manager on the show this week, and he came in to tell us about the setup at Lancing, and across Sussex and Surrey.

For me, this was a genuinely fascinating show as I had little idea as to how the whole set up works, and John gave us great insights. What he said afterwards (an hour really is a short space of time to let everyone know things) was to give an insight as to how a player can make it from U23 to senior level.

He said him and Chris Hughton and the senior management team have regular meetings, and at certain times Chris will ask John if there is anyone he believes ready to make the step up. If John suggests someone, they will be invited to train with the first team. When - and only when - Chris implicitly trusts them to do exactly what he wants them to do, he will consider them for the first team - of which the bench is usually the next step, when there's a space available.

For example, one player who has made the step up to the senior side 'would have trained 30 or 40 times with the first team squad' before being considered by Chris.
