I can't work out what level OGS really is. I don't think he's proper shit, but he's no master tactician either. Potter is comfortably a better coach, that's for sure.

I’m not sure what OGS actually brings to the table for his multi- million pound contract. He doesn’t seem to have a tactical plan or vision. His sides don’t play with any discernible style or identity. He doesn’t seem to impose anything on the club. Given the absurd amount of talent at the club I’m sure the kitman could pick the starting XI for most games and do the halftime talk and get broadly the same results.

He just reminds me of the football team equivalent of having supply teacher.

He is decent, which is what they need after actively trying to disassemble the club with Mourinho (in particular) as well as LvG and Moyes.

Shareholders dont like when £90m players like Pogba (and others) hates the manager, which appeared to be the case with Jose, and is trying to leave the club. The shareholders didnt like Jose, they didnt like LVG but they do like Ole because he keeps the Manchester United brand clean, and that is much more important to them than success is.

His results are also fine.

As for style they never had one. Arsenal had a style of playing. United didnt - they just went out and won.

Is the a top class manager? No, but one who does his job without pooping in the mid circle in front of millions of TV viewers each week and as it stands they find it good enough.

Yeah, he did well with Molde and seems well-liked, but just tends to fall down when it comes to the crunch/big games, and seems like he gets out-thought mid-game by more wily managers.

They did take 31 points after falling behind last season though... 11 more than anyone else.

Shareholders, and neutral observers, might reasonably question why a club with £90m players is falling behind so often in the first place, or why the limit of their ambition is a manager who's results are "fine".

I remember the last season SAF somehow won the league with one of crappiest Man Utd squads in two decades.

If that had been OGS running that squad, they'd have been more like Arsenal are this season. Tactically he's clueless, it's just that he is enthusiastic and I'm guessing he is a half decent motivator.

They Should have gone all out for Kane instead of Sancho - which is just an odd signing.

Seems like a good guy. Better goalkeeper than many think he is as well, dont think the Sunderland documentary did his reputation any favours but from what I've seen he is a good keeper.

A bit surprised* to see the match thread has descended into another debate on Connolly and the relative ability as a manager of Solksjaer.

For those that went to the game how did we play. The highlights made it look like Swansea could consider themselves unlucky not to have got something from the game. Is that a fair reflection?

Swansea started each half very well and had us on the back foot but failed to make the most of some very presentable chances. Once that initial storm was weathered the Albion were able to comfortably see the game out courtesy of two smart finishes from Aaron Connolly.

Watching from the lower tier my view of the game was not as good as my WSU seat, but i’d Say the Albion played ok and made their PL quality count in a manner we have failed to do in previous seasons. Not the most cohesive of performances but one that showed us that Turns, Sarmiento and Richards have lot of potential. It was good to see Lamptey back and AC get a confidence boosting brace. A brief cameo from Locadia was also entertaining.

Can you honestly not accept that doing that celebration after scoring a deflected goal against lower league opposition in front of 9,000 fans just completely shows that he has an attitude problem? Do you think he’ll do it again when he scores his next goal in 20 games time? Are we all supposed to say ‘oh Aaron, how wrong we were’ (I would LOVE to have to say that by the way.

I too agree that if he was aiming it at Swansea fans after taking a load of stick from their bus load then that is a different matter entirely. I must confess, I had assumed he was doing it at the home support needlessly.

If this is genuinely the case then I take it all back. It’s fair game doing it to opposition fans (although I’d still have a word about just focusing on his game and doing his job as a professional if I was Potter).

My biggest concern is that we seem to have been riding our luck big time in not conceding goals so far this season. Last night was no different apparently. In the same way I bemoaned our bad luck last season and expected it to change in the next game, I am now a little concerned that we are going to concede spawny goals on Monday……

Crikey, I know Connolly has had a few chances in terms of acting like a dickhead off the pitch, but I didn't realise cupping his ears in front of the away fans would create such a reaction amongst our fanbase.

I think it's time for some of our fans to try and support the lad instead of get on his back at every opportunity. The club clearly feel he still has a role to play, and he very much will, particularly if Maupay or Welbeck get injured.

I was at Vicarage Road the night Johnny Crumplin football genius scored and then stuck his middle finger up at the traveling BHA fans. Less sensitive times perhaps ?
