Because we could've gone second? The inevitability that we'd f*** it up
I'm not even that fussed about the 2nd thing.

It's the nature of the performance. We know, because we've seen it this season, that the lads can play better than that.

But everyone was a little bit off. And the drop off in the 2nd half was so noticeable.

I'd be absolutely fuming if I was FH. It was weak. Gutless.

There is no joint 2nd, 3rd or anything. If this were the end of the season the record would forever show that we finished 2nd.
Yes - and at the end of the season it seemingly IS the head-to-head record. Don't know if that applies during the season though?

Looks like there's an imposter in the 'Big 6'

By alphabetical order, if the their was a joint position this is as close as you get to it.

Still hopefully Liverpool beat city and we are properly above them.

Frustrating second half, but wasted our chances to be out of sight in the first.
Missed Beleba today bigtime.
And Weiffer is still poor.
Ref was truly awful and their player who scored should not have been on the pitch.
We never got hold of Dibling and that almost cost us.
Van Hecke should never be asked to go right back again.
We weren't great today, but we still had more than enough to beat a poor Southampton team.

Apart from that, very enjoyable 😬

Why can’t the rest of the Premier league be as good as Man City, Spurs, Man Utd, Arsenal, Newcastle and Liverpool ? (yes we lost but we more than matched them)

Frustrating that we struggle to beat the bottom teams but we keep going and keep learning.

We really needed to bury our chances.
Do you know what though, I can’t remember that many really clear cut chances we had - Mitoma’s early miss, some headers over the top, a few comfortable stops for their keeper following defensive errors. We weren’t missing sitters tonight and their keeper didn’t have a worldie.

Aside from their disallowed goal, they had the best chance which wasn’t a goal in the first half, when Archer shot wide from 6 yards.

I think it was a 55-45 type game in their favour and in the end, a draw (just fractionally) favours us, regardless of one’s view on the disallowed goal.

Trying to take the emotion out of it. I don't like seeing goals like that ruled out. The player didn't do enough to to really say he interfered with play
I disagree, the rule is wrong. If you are a keeper with two players running in you have to accommodate that in your positioning. Therefore both players are affecting play.

In short if Armstrong isn't there verbruggen blocks the cross or shot. Because he was there he has to try and cover both players.

Let's be honest, we struggled against Bournemouth last week and although we won Bournemouth were the better side.

I dunno. I thought we had a lot of very good chances. Some of the heading today was pub level stuff, making brilliant chances look like half chances. But it’s amazing how often we don’t do the basics of getting the ball on target…

We played poorly, ref was poor but pub before the game was good and I'm sure when we get back the pub will be good! A mixed bag tonight then!
The ref was only poor because he sometimes gave fouls against us and that's very annoying....

Four Southampton players booked, two Albion. But we committed slightly more fouls.

Ref, generally is the case, was fine. Albion not taking advantage when it was there wasn't.

Anyway, time for the cricket- and HIGNFY
