Usual toys out of pram comments. We lost, so it was our worst performance ever, all players are crap, Potter and barber out! We need a striker, lwb - in fact replace the entire defence, midfielders and goalkeeper. We're going down.

In fact we do need a striker and lwb. We're lack of plan b option on forward, and need a competitor for Solly in the lwb position.

Well beaten by a team more up for it than us and with better players. Oh well, onwards and upwards

How can you name a team that started the second half with four players out of position?!!!

Bollox.

The recruitment team will surely be kicked into gear?

We desperately, desperately need a new LWB, Striker, RWB and maybe a pacy winger.

Tony will know the score and will bash some heads. I expect a minimum of 2 signings in the next 3 days and by Christ, I think it’ll happen, it has to.

I hope you are right but I have my doubts

I am reliably informed, via @OfficialBHA, that if we had kept, and started Percy Tau, none of this unpleasantness would have happened.

Thank God for the internet

I hope you are right but I have my doubts.

The problem is that the window closes after 3 games. We’re clearly taking a number of negotiations to the wire. I wish we’d have been able to get these done prior to the season.

I just have a belief that Tony will come through here, the team is clearly trying to get the best deals for the club but I think we’ve been found out today.

That’s what you are forced into when specialist players in positions aren’t available, no specialist full backs when you rely on them to start attacks kind of fecks up the game plan

Let’s not take anything away from Everton, they did a number on us

Trust that Palace **** Townsend to have a blinder against us too.

This is how I read it.

We're missing some important players sure, but Everton were simply better than us. They look set to have a good season under Rafa.

I think there was a Mr. Adams that once quoted "keep the faith."

Such early days against a big club with a big manager, some would say a fat manager, I will say big.

Everton just seemed sharper, faster and more physical. Onto the next one. Comedy value from the stewards trying to pull out the fan who'd celebrated on the pitch at least.

This might be a naive question, but curious what the answer is. I noticed the Everton subs warming up on the pitch while the ball was in play. Play wasn't near where they were, but they were straying a good metre or more over the line without having to do so (loads of space behind the touchline) . Noticed Watford subs doing it season before last too. Is this allowed as long as they aren't interfering and are clearly in a bib or whatever so not an "active" player?

It happens. Everton were the better team with better players. Six points would have been a dream start from 3 games. We have achieved that. I've moved on already.
