Genuinely think we gave them more of a game that most clubs have this season. Mainly in the second half sure, but I was starting to dream of a 4-4 draw!

Absolutely cracking game. What a quality side Arsenal are, and we pushed them to the limit. Once I saw Veltman wasn't playing I new we would struggle. He would be first on my team sheet.
Onwards to Everton
Really enjoyed the last 30 minutes. We were all over them albeit with the game already won. Some schoolboy defensive errors but against an Arsenal side who made our lives miserable in the first hour.

That was a good Arsenal side that, but we missed Moises and Alexis in the middle.

They both better be back for the Everton game!

The rule is bullshit and its applied selectively by microscopic nazi officials hell bent on ruling out good goals and making themselves the story.

Rule should be similar as for the ball, if any part hasn't crossed line it's in.

If any part of a player is onside, they should be deemed onside.

Guarantees more goals and players being the story, not idiots in dark rooms with video monitors.
Agree with this - but would refine it slightly to make it the same as Umpires call in cricket. Go with the onfield decision unless it’s so wrong that any part of the player is not onside (or offside).

Same every year. Clocks go back and he turns to shit. I’d rip your hand off for 35m for him. I’m sure he’ll get 3 goals in April and people will be delighted.
Get him in behind a proper striker (and who knows, we may have one) and you'll see the player he is.

Ask him to lead the line against top quality defenders like that. OK yes, he'll look shit

Didn’t embarrass ourselves and could have imploded but kept going, Credit to our squad

Gilmour - lively, wanted the ball and played well, comforting to see. Don’t see him going anywhere in January

Ferguson - a handful, changed our threat, involved and scores. Didn’t look out of place at all and should start against Everton IMHO.

Trossard, hasn’t got the stature to play up top on his own, but don’t know about anyone else the body language has been appalling over the last week, doesn’t seem interested at all. Wonder if any offers come in for him that he likes but we’ve said no / not enough. Face like a smacked arse (more than usual) needs to have a rest against Everton (Appreciate PB has said no contact but doesn’t mean it’s true)

Colwill - a decent composed performance again, maybe at fault for the first but the whole back line was out of sync when lamptey lost it

On to Everton, who will have a bit of confidence after their draw with City but exactly the kind of game that we take the points from

Oh well

Hardly. He was previously booked for an outrageous dive. That prevented him from making the outrageous dive you were calling for.
If you watch the first one back, his left foot got clipped. He was actually fouled and would have been past two defenders so no need to dive as he was running into the box. Should have been a BHA free kick.

The post match take on Sky is so shallow. If Arteta has any sense he'll be saying to his board: 'Our first eleven is great, but there's the evidence that our squad won't win this league. ' An injury to any one of Odergaard, Saka, Gabriel or Partey and we have no replacement.

Has anyone got the still of the mitoma offside? Did they stop it for the touch on foot or shoulder? From the angle I have seen he looks onside when it hits the shoulder.

Why? because you wanted it to? It was offside.
I know, no shit sherlock. Obviously in this case I wanted the goal to stand, but more generally I would too.
It's more because I don't think it shouldn't be defined as offside, or VAR doesn't intervene in such circumstances. But that's not an easy one to figure out, so maybe not best for you to ponder.

No, because most of us don't want the game ruined. Most of us understand the phrase 'clear and obvious' - but PGMOL unfortunately don't. They just see VAR as a chance to demonstrate their power to disallow as many goals as possible.

For that reason, offside VAR decisions should be allowed 10 seconds only. If not 100% certain it was clearly and obviously offside after 10 seconds allow it - if you can't be certain after ten seconds then it isn't, by definition, clear and obvious. Simples. Shame they can't see it, and can't see they are ruining the game.

Gave them sloppy goals
Ridiculous Arsenal time wasting
Missed some key players
Arsenal the better team but we helped them

Just not our night & I didn’t think it would be given the players we were missing.

He’s been the exact same since he’s been here. Whether he’s a false 9 or not. He’s the Premier League Paul Brooker.

Lamptey has sadly lost some of his pace due to his long term hamstring injury as we saw for Arsenal's 4th goal.
Maybe, but Martinelli had the momentum going into that foot race.

I thought Lamptey's one on one defending was good.

He'll get pointed at for the first goal. Fair enough. But likely he's been asked to carry it out of defence. And more to the point, a lot else has to go wrong for that to be a goal. Two deflections and dropping straight to Saka's feet was wildly improbable. A strange goal as RDZ diplomatically put it
