Bridcutt and Dicker sign!

If QPR are replacing Warnock with an Italian coach I can't see them going for Glenn. It would be a ridiculous step up for a 27 year old who has never played above League 1.

I agree, QPR should be looking to buy Premiership strikers with experience to lead the line, that is the normal route taken by Championship promoted sides, it is going to be difficult for them to consolidate their premiership position and if I were a QPR fan I would not really be chuffed if my board were splashing out on a forward to lead them into the top flight whom has never played above the third tier and who is 27+. I really think this QPR rumour about Murray is just utter bilge.

Great that Bridcutt and Dicker have signed on for another 2 years on the Gus Bus though.

Brilliant that these two have been tied down so early. Very excited about Bridcutt's potential, and Dicker is a tremendous player to watch on his day (the humongous Amex pitch will suit him to a tee).

As someone touched on earlier, I think the fact that they're only 2 year contracts is more an indication of Bloom's plans/ambition for the next few years.

He joined March 2009 so it was either White or Slade.
He was definitely signed under Slade, whether anyone else had an input into it who knows, but it's always worth remembering that Slade brought Dicker and Bennett to the club, among others.

Great news about Dicker and Bridcutt

Gus has been banging on all season about finishing needing to be clinical; fair enough Glenn and Barnes have racked up the goals but how many chances were created.

Anyone watching Cardiff QPR last weekend would see the gulf between what we have been doing in L1 and what is required to be at the top of the Championship; very few chances but those that went in were spectacular or clinical; Bellamy's in particular would have been trapped by our forwards to set up and easier hit and chance gone; there was a lot of that at Colchester on Monday.

I'm setting myself up for a fall here but I don't think Murray will sign for us and I don't think Gus will be too disappointed. A great player for L1, may not have what ot takes for a higher league.

This sums the situation up just about right. Murray wastes too many chances to be a top striker. However, he does offer a lot in bringing others into play. Barnes, I think however, is still young and has developed well over this season. He took his goal very well on Monday.

I think that Gus knows that he needs better than Murray for next season's main striker, and simply does not want to spend too much of his budget in trying to keep him as a squad player.

I do wonder whether Muzza has played his last game in an Albion shirt.

Gus' comment on the club site talking about the team for Saturday sounds somewhat loaded: "We don't know yet about Glenn, which might sound strange. We haven't got the results of the scan yet, so we are not sure of the extent of the injury."

Hmmm.

Really hope he doesn't become a waste of wages, from what I've seen in the ressies, he wouldn't be my choice.

The development squad, by its nature, is going to result in a waste of wages. A large number of them won't make it. You just need to view it as if one or two break through, then the total monies spent on the whole squad, is worth the one or two who do break though. As those one or two will benefit a lot more from being in the DS than being a pro that isn't close to the 1st team, doesnt get much attention from the coaches and gets farmed out on loan with no real direction to their development.

Are we likely to loan Agdestein out next season? It's hard to see him getting competitive games otherwise - so perhaps a few matches on loan in Div Two (or even One) might be what he needs?

Possibly. But Gus will need to be sure he is going to go to a team that is playing a similar style of football to us.

I think if he progresses, he will break through into the first team squad and maybe get a cameo appearance or two at the Amex. So in that scenario, he will probably stay in the development squad for the start of the new season.

I am sure that Gus will loan him out for a while if/when he feels he is ready. I think that is how Gus likes to get players ready for First Team action.
