I got it now. The article refers to things such as the car industry, you rattle on about cheese and dogs. Righto.

Thanks.

Does any car deal include the compensation our Snake oil salesmen offered to Japan to cover tariff costs in the event of no deal? They haven't forgotten about it according to Japanese media. If it does, under WTO it will have to be offered to other countries. Could be quite expensive. What actual positives are you seeing that you are contuing to give these charlatans your support?

I just don’t understand why you posted this. It’s only replacing one of the deals we had already

I hate to be pedantic, but under the EU/Japan deal the UK had certain quotas within the EU for Agricultural Imports that we could Import to Japan tariff free. Under the UK/Japan deal we don't, but we are allowed to use up any of the EU quota that they don't use. So, it is replacing an existing deal, but on terms that are decided by the EU (a third party that we have no influence in). I guess this is one of the benefits of negotiating our own deals

Still, only another 39 free trade agreements to negotiate in the next 10 weeks to simply stay where we are with trade with the rest of the world, outside of the EU.

Tick tock

wasn't the Japan deal the one where we agreed stricter state aid rules whilst trying to argue for the opposite with the EU, completely weakening our position?

I'd forgotten about that.

I haven't checked the detail of the signed deal, but believe you are right. Certainly a few weeks back, in order to get the Japan deal, we had agreed to abide by the State aid rules that Japan agreed with the EU, whilst claiming the state aid rules that the EU want, are one of the major areas stopping us agreeing a deal with the EU :shootself

You really, really couldn't make it up. Satire is dead :lolol:

I think the loons running the circus know they only have to appease the ever dminishing number gullible Brexiteers, knowing they will cheer anything so sell it as win when even they know it's putting lipstick on a pig

A senior EU diplomat said: “Having grown up in Brussels, Boris Johnson values the ability to travel freely to the continent. So it is perfectly apt that the UK is now asking the EU to change its own laws to accommodate London on something it always had. We are probably in for another re-run of ‘the EU is being unfair’, ‘we’re only asking for a Canada-style deal’. It isn’t.”

Didn’t think it was possible to get any more transparent but they went and did it! Really exceeding expectations these days these *****.

Never knew a Passport being blue would be worth losing free access to all of Europe AND extra queuing time at the airport, what a colour !
To be fair we can have hours of fun gazing at it and admiring the colour while queuing at the EU passport controls.
