I don't think it's project fear we are dealing with anymore. It's project fact.

No deal is a disaster, and there is no way of spinning it. The whole Leave strategy has been a masterclass in punching oneself in the face - repeatedly - whilst a few ex-pat Brits sit in Belize laughing.

For once, you posted a piece I have some sympathy with. We still have very different solutions to the problem though.

Unfortunately it is an eyes wide open situation, we just want you guys to open yours a bit more. We are effectively playing chicken with the EU, hoping that the problems that no deal causes for them will sway them to concede some ground. The biggest weapon we have in this are the funds we have agreed to pay over the coming years, which in the event of no deal, will be off the table. But here is the problem, the EU don't need all that money in the first 2 or 3 months after we leave, but we do need to have goods crossing the border, in both directions, continuously. Throwing open our borders will not work, the video posted of the 3 guys in the pub explains comprehensively why. So no deal will lead to us quickly wanting to re open negotiations, and the first thing back on the table will be the divorce cash.
The EU know this, they will not buckle, they will want to avoid it if they can as it will be painful all round, but they are in a much, much stronger position than us.
I personally do not believe anyone in Government will allow this to happen, and in this respect, you may call it project fear, but we can't stop saying what a really shit idea it is, as long as Rees-Mogg and others keep saying it is an option.
Is it still funny to watch?

So we're saying to the EU, do a fair deal, or there will be no deal and it will be bad for both of us. That seems reasonable to me.

I disagree. I'd say the biggest weapon (as you put it) that we have, is that no deal will be really bad for the EU too.

1. Where am I 'whining'? Note: disagreeing with you or daring to question your claims, doesn't constitute whining.
2. Why did I need to 'specify' where the particular EU research grants come from? What point are you trying to make, exactly?
3. '2' is embarrassingly hypocritical given that the post you are reacting to, is one questioning your flaky (unspecified and unsubstantiated) claims about increased activity in those areas post-Brexit.
