Gods country fortnightly
On top of that there's no space at Dover (let alone time) to extend the facilities needed at the Eastern docks that currently process the 500 or so non-EU lorries that are checked each day and held up for over 20 minutes a time and Manston Airport can't be used as an emergency measure because The A256 from Dover (some of which is single carriageway) would grind to a halt very quickly as a result. It'll take years to build what is required elsewhere, not forgetting delays caused by NIMBY and environmental objections. It's a right old mess. Still, I'm sure the 59% of Kent's electorate who voted Leave knew all this 2 years ago.

Kent.....watch the last BBC QT from Dartford, says it all

Of course the Welsh ports have no customs officers and Ireland....well don't even go there

The UK is holding a gun to its own head, "Give me what i want or I'll blow my brains out"

If anything it would strengthen our hand, as we could say to them pesky Europeans "we have got a deal with China/USA/Pacific Alliance, if you can equal or better it, then lets talk".
But we can't do a deal with China/USA/etc, because they want to know what our deal is with the EU first.

It's a bit like car insurance; you get a renewal notice for £250 and ring up to say "I'm cancelling because it's too much", so they say "what can you get it for then ?" and you say "Dunno"; The pressure is on you to accept whatever they offer you or cancel and find better. If, however, you have done a bit of legwork and can say "I got a quote from the AA for £190" then the pressure is on them to match or beat it.

Three blokes down pub discuss Brexit
So 3 people who supported the remain campaign before the vote, still support the remain campaign now. Fascinating.

Quite, it's like Russian roulette, except every chamber is loaded, but one has a dum-dum in it, which, quite aptly, is the chamber the No Deal Brexiteers are hoping for.

How about actually trying to answer his question and add some substance to your point, rather than failing to be funny?

You predict a growth in technological research and cutting-edge engineering.

He's asked you why it should be that these things, that are already happening at our Universities (much of it funded by EU grants, btw) are expected to increase, outside of the EU.

Can you educate us, please?

How about you have a look at readily available stuff, instead of constantly whining.Another idiot on about EU grants without specifying where that money came from.
You love to poke your nose in,without adding anything whatsoever.Educate you, when you already know everything,or think you do?

For what seemed extremely valid reasons, but hey.
Right, so someone who wanted us to remain, agrees with some other people who wanted to remain. This isn't exactly breaking news is it?

It's an hour long, so no, I didn't watch it all. Care to summarise for us?

Did any of what you watched resonate? Was any of it untrue? Were there any positives?
Is there any part of what you watched that you want to argue about, or do you accept they know what they are talking about?

Yes I know all this, I dont need to Google UK university and industry research. I am also not being confrontational!

I was interested in, and still am, how you have you come to the conclusion we will be more at the forefront of technological research and engineering outside the EU rather than in it and even more so how this will be a major growth areas post Brexit!

Can you explain your reasoning on this?

When the site goes to HTTPS I might be persuaded to post some links. If my ban has finished!

I must admit I was pulling your leg about the accordion players and beggars,I'm sure they will stay.I would imagine major growth industries to be space, graphics, new technologies, exploiting new materials like graphene, engineering, and meaningful education. If Thicko is right, lots of customs officers (there is always a first time)

Can you really imagine the UK being more at the forefront of technological research and engineering outside the EU rather than in it? Can you explain your reasoning on this?

Not only just more at the forefront, you also see this as a “major growth area”. How have you come to this conclusion?!

Given the number of allegedly university educated people posting on here,I'm rather shocked you aren't aware of the on-going research projects between industry and la-la land in nuclear power,materials,aero,space/satellite tech.I suppose it's due to the high numbers of yoghurt knitting and yurt growing degrees in southern universities.Yet again,if you are actually interested,as opposed to just being confrontational, googling British University research might reveal something to you,if you ignore the porno.

How about actually trying to answer his question and add some substance to your point, rather than failing to be funny?

It's probably had as much reasoning and thought as his solution to the UK's car building industry. Ask him any serious question and he'll come up with some ridiculous answer as he's incapable of thinking a through a problem more complex than which way to sit on a toilet seat.

Same every single time

Make stupid statement
Get questioned on background/facts/logic of statement
Insult everyone

....and repeat

Your post is gibberish, it really is.

1. Where am I 'whining'? Note: disagreeing with you or daring to question your claims, doesn't constitute whining.
2. Why did I need to 'specify' where the particular EU research grants come from? What point are you trying to make, exactly?
3. '2' is embarrassingly hypocritical given that the post you are reacting to, is one questioning your flaky (unspecified and unsubstantiated) claims about increased activity in those areas post-Brexit.
4. 'Poke my nose in'? To what exactly? YOUR debate? Do you have a list of who is allowed to contribute?

I try not to stoop to base level, but you really do come across as a bit of an arrogant cock.

But if the NHS is getting all of the £350 million a week that we didn't used to send to the EU, the Farmers are getting their CAP payments, for a couple of years anyway, the DUP get their extra £billion for N.I., and we are having to employ thousands of extra Border staff, customs inspectors etc. forget where it used to come from, where is the money going to come from?

Of course the Welsh ports have no customs officers

As well as that, Pembrokeshire County Council have identified one possible sunlit upland to Brexit in their impact assessment though.
