I don't call all those who voted for Brexit idiots; however, what they did was idiotic and I think your summary of the benefits is suitably vague that it will satisfy the small minority who either benefit or who at least are not badly effected; and your emotive language: 'echo chamber', 'disturbing' 'shame on you' says more about your attitude than anything else.

As far as I can tell, the reason why there are so few people on here who espouse your views is that they realise that they have been misled, can find no tangible benefits to Brexit but are understandably unwilling to admit to it....

Meanwhile in the world of x86 architecture Intel are investing in Europe...

The Downside Dossier just hit 1000. That's one THOUSAND Brexit downsides.....

You would need an army of vehicle signwriters on lifetime contracts to get all those 1000 Brexit downsides on the Brexit campaign bus.

Brexit Upsides 22
Brexit Downsides 1000

But we're only 7 years in, 43 to go according to JRM

Incidentally, I'm not sure NSC Leave collective identified any of the 22

Reading this echo chamber is frankly disturbing.

I voted out of Europe because I’ve lived in America and seen how shambolic that looks. There are two levels of law, neither of which take responsibility.

We now have accountability. It will cost money because it will hold global businesses to a higher standard. The cost of that is immediate regulation and it will be hugely taxing but creates an opportunity for us to create a higher standard. But calling all those who voted for Brexit idiots is utterly wrong. Shame on you.

Are you still happy with your decision?

I'm not sure if this is a serious post or a piss take. I don't know where to start...

So you voted out of Europe based on the belief you'd like the USA to split into different countries ?
Then doesn’t want us to call him an idiot.

So once every three years, you pop up on this thread, make a ridiculous, fatuous, indefensible statement and then, being completely unable to defend any part of it, ignore all questions and run off to hide for another 3 years.

Like on this occasion, claiming Brexit will somehow 'improve standards' despite all the evidence since Brexit that standards covering Workers Rights, Human Rights, Food Safety, Genetic modification of foodstuffs, animal husbandry, managing global businesses etc etc etc are being actively removed.

Have a little read about how this Brexit cabal Government are 'improving standards' :dunce:

Government retreats from Brexit bill plan to ditch EU laws

While such a climbdown risks angering hardline Tory Brexiters, including the bill’s original champion, Jacob Rees-Mogg, the extent of opposition to it from business, environmental groups, unions and Brussels has left ministers with no option but to consider delay, and moving to a scaled-down and less hurried version.

Senior figures in Brussels have also weighed in, saying that if environmental and other standards are allowed to fall in the UK, threatening the so-called “level playing field”, this could seriously undermine the UK’s post-Brexit trade deal with the EU and potentially lead to a trade war.

Although I can't imagine why anyone would call you an idiot when there's obviously no evidence of idiocy whatsoever

I can't wait for your next logical, well though out, evidence based contribution to the debate :lolol:

Some of them are pretty trivial. For example, just looking at the most recent 20, one of them is that egg imports from the EU have been made harder and another is that egg imports from outside the EU are to be made easier. Putting both of those on the down marker looks like bias to me.

So your defence of Brexit is now 'only one of these egg downsides should be on there, so it's actually only 999 significant downsides to Brexit'

In fairness if you look at the top 20 reasons for voting Leave...

...that is one of the top 3 most coherent.

Good article via FT Edit today on the legacy of Brexit (and it’s architects) - an ever fading cabal of noisy “little England”ers.

How Brexiters live their truth (badly)
https://ftedit.onelink.me/Ju3k/ucktk2m7

There are some truly brilliant quotes in there. For anyone incapable of getting round a paywall (and I'm not thinking of anyone in particular)

Imagine you were a senior Brexiter in 2016, a politician or a journalistic cheerleader. You’ll always remember that moment the night of the vote, when you realised you had achieved something historic. The vote was your revenge on your conventional, unimaginative peers, some of them, frustratingly, with better careers, who couldn’t see Brexit’s potential. For years afterwards, you told yourself comforting stories to preserve the illusion that Brexit would work out. Any setbacks would be righted once there was a real Brexiter in charge, or when a prime minister dared unleash all that potential by slashing taxes. Everyone you knew agreed with you.

Tellingly, Brexiters now hate to talk about Brexit. Whenever we Remoaners mention it, the standard Leaver retort is, “Get over it”, as if it were a defeat in a long-ago football match rather than an all-encompassing policy that will harm Britain for decades.

The British economy, suffering the worst fall in living standards on record, will be the worst-performing of the G20 economies except Russia this year and next, forecasts the OECD. Britain’s goods exports are the worst in the G7. Foreign investment has fallen since 2016. Despite the Brexiter promise of more money for the NHS, more than one in 10 Britons is now waiting for hospital treatment, the most since records began. Life expectancy for poorer people has fallen.

But this is all now in the past and current and we really do need to look to the future. The future is simply how much longer this economic clusterf*** is allowed to continue, and the poorest in our society going to have to endure before someone has the balls to sort it out and we re-join some sort of Customs Union. I wonder if it's time for a poll yet ???

The last assessment I read on the situation had The UK performing EVEN WORSE than Russia. A country currently undergoing sanctions by the majority of developed nations around the world.

I mean that was the assessment by the IMF. But WTF would they know right?
