sounds to me you hunch is really just a straw man built on your prejudiced view of Brexit voters. working in a multinational office, many Europeans think we've done the right thing (but then they're mostly living in the UK so a different pov from many)

Is absolutely correct.
Brexiteers do not see the big picture. At best they view students from the EU as scrounging students, at worst as some form of illegal immigrants sponging off our taxes.
And yes, due to this attitude the world views us as mean spirited little englanders. It will not stand us in good stead in negotiations. Not one bit.

I do not view overseas students as you describe.
Does the world view us as "little Englanders" or is thyour view. I would imagine that a lot of people in the world are grateful for our open door policies over the years, our massive aid to help countries etc. Perhaps they might realise that a lot of people in England are fed up with the EU''s input into this country and that this country needs to CONTROL it's immigration.

is it me and you and all the other brexiters who have said we want a fair non discriminatory system across the board that manages immigration to the needs of the country .....or is it people like the clamp who refers to all immigrants as brown people and white people as little englanders....some people seem to have a very twisted racial agenda

The NI secretary has just been up. There are going to be massive issues with the land border which, it seems, must be a hard one? No single market, no fluid border?

That doesn't sound right? Earlier indications were for much more fluidity?

Is that the land border with Eire?
Looks like we are going to have to repeal all the land border treaties we had with them since the 1920`s prior to being in the EU then.....what a ball ache

Even more so if visas are required for work and visiting even if there is a waiver programme but pre visit forms required to be completed.

I got told on here back in July time by our friends who voted 'leave' that the common travel area and all current arrangements with The Republic of Ireland would remain intact post-Brexit, when I raised the Irish border as a concern.

i was all for staying in the single market after brexit, i am warming to the idea though of a complete clean break. Freedom of movement will be stopped and the EU have made it perfectly clear already they have no wiggle room on free movement....time to call their bluff and say OK see you later........leave it up to hollande and merkel to explain to their own exporters that they have been ****ed over
