In other news politicians in France are looking to revoke the Le Touquet agreement.
This will mean we cannot do immigration checks in the French channel ports so all those migrants who have been held in 'The Jungle" and other camps will be free to board ferries etc to the UK.
As the French will be free to refuse to take them back we will have to deal with them.


So that's working out well then.

I remember voting on Thursday. The question on the ballot paper was:

Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union?

It wasn't asking me should we have new trade deals or tariffs or leave the single market.
It wasn't asking me if I wanted free movement to end.
It wasn't asking me about Islam.
It wasn't asking me about immigration, either EU or non-EU to this country.
It wasn't asking me if I believed in fairy-tales and whether £350 Million extra to the NHS a week would be provided.
It wasn't me if I wanted 'my country back.'
It wasn't asking me if I liked the government/Westminster or not.

There's an awful lot of confusion, uncertainty and division in this country now. It's not united. Nobody has a clue what will happen now. Nobody who voted 'remain',as I did does. Nobody who voted 'leave' either does.

We will simply apply the common sense approach, all the standards agencies will operate as normal.. as most of them did before we entered the EU... but if course they have matured since then and new standards will be applied with a British and common sense consideration but also with in the context of what is required to export or import products.

So in summary, not much change in content, just some adjustment as to who sets and manages said standards.

I wouldn't go that far but all parties are on a hiding to nothing with the NHS and education and they really are too big and important to be messed around with every five years so make them NGOs so they have the freedom and the time to change for the best.

Indeed its something i've often thought too as they get messed about with every few years and part of the problem we have is under investment in schools and hospitals (or perhaps bad investment...).

Not bothered about mtrs/centre metres, miles/kilometres and all that minor stuff.

Would like a free movement of people for those with job offer/study/holidays(obviously)

No benefits for migrants other than a working tax credit and once they are given a temporary Nat ins number any medical care must be paid 50% by their country of origin.

Then I will switch from leave to remain in a proper reformed EU.
Until then I am out.

Is that a serious comment. Perhaps you should ask that famous Leave supporter, James Dyson why he took manufacturing to Malaysia. If we want to manufacture again then we need to do it as cheaply as they do overseas so maybe you can kiss the living wage goodbye!!! Alternatively, you need to manufacture in a niche market but I'm sure it wouldn't take long for other countries to cotton on.

Yes it is a serious comment although I do concede it is not easy. However I am sure there are instances of countries manufacturing stuff and still having decent wages. There must be a way to stop our reliance on cheap imported shit that people have suffered to make. Not as easy way I am sure but where there's a will and all that.

This is interesting too. It would appear that if there was a re-run of the referendum then the Leave vote would go up. The Leave voters dissatisfied with the result of the referendum is 1% and the Remain voters happy with the result is a staggering 4%. I must admit, I can't get my head around 4% of Remain supporters being happy with this. Mind you, if there's one thing the last election and this referendum has shown is that polling is a very inexact science.

It has much to do with them making that choice and working out a way to make that happen. In conjunction with the EU yes but not because of it.

Longer version: There will be behind the scenes informal negotiations with the EU starting in a week or so. The new PM (May??) will continue those negotiations and win some new concessions which will be able to be dressed up as very large (something on UK Parliament sovereignty, something on border control). This will enable her (him) to call a snap election with a "vote for me and we'll stay in on these new improved terms" pitch. The Tories will win (labour will likely still be in chaos - shame on them). The PM, now with a "mandate", will declare "victory" and we stay in.

Easy, this political prediction stuff, innit? All imo, obviously.

48% said remain i.e. happy with the free market and free movement, so even if there is only 3% of Leave voters who wanted to retain the free market and free movement, you have a majority.

So that's working out well then.

I think this is old news unless you can point to a new article. The French government has said that the agreement would remain in place. However some of the politicians who supported Remain have been saying we have not been doing enough anyway, so may be 10,000+ from the camps should fill the quota and stop the moaning from this side and keep the Welcome Refugees campaign happy.

What this will show people is the reality of the EU. Since Scotland wants to join the EU, they might become part of schengen so all the people arriving in Dover would move to Scotland, that would help fills the EU quota.

It wouldn't take long before we have 700,000 people arriving in this country every year and another EU referendum would be called. You can see why being a member of the EU isn't working now.
